How many mandolin-playing glove designers do you know? Well, you're looking at one. Whether it's fashion, music, demonstrating against Damien Hirst, or telling inattentive audiences to "shut up and listen", Christina Brodie's unique, quirky style and vision colours everything she touches. Of German-Welsh parentage, in a previous lifetime she was a botanical artist, before committing herself to rejuvenating the British glove industry with her signature funky leather gloves (see World Of Christina ).
After a productive recording year, collaborating with talented producer Anthony Galatis, Christina has produced the album "Christina Brodie Forever" (inc. "Kick You", "Love Can Turn It Around") and EP "Modern Dreams" (inc. "Aviator", "Bear Market"), released on 29th March 2009. These are now available at Sister Ray Records, Berwick St., London, and will shortly be available from Christina's own website and from CdBaby.com. Christina does all her own photography and artwork/concepts for her CDs, and is presently working on translating some of her ideas into video. She has also written three books about art instruction ("Drawing and Painting Plants", "Making Fashion Bags and Purses" and "Making Scarves, Collars, Ties & Belts") for publishers A & C Black.
