despite rumors to the contrary, the truly golden age of post mortem was the period of june to october of 1982. after meeting "the original 4" on a bus heading to a ramones concert in the spring of '82, chris x joined the band as bassist. after many sessions in marque's attic, it quickly became apparent that chris couldn't play a lick on bass. that coupled with the fact that the original singer norman "zero" mciver couldn't remember his own lyrics led to chris becoming the lead singer, with "metal marque" moving to bass. the band quickly honed their skills, churning out such lost classics as "atom bomb", "run amok", and the somewhat prophetically titled "house of correction". the band toiled endlessly, practicing non-stop in anticipation of their big break at the upcoming "battle of the bands" at the legendary dark dank confines of belmont high school. unfortunately, after a small incident involving a machete, a lying whore of an ex-girlfriend, and some red headed joker in the army, chris was shipped away to the nuthouse. once he was safely ensconced, and deciding he was obviously too punk rock for his own good, little ricky, and the band unceremoniously cut ties with chris. after his release, and a short stint as a velour wearing, brush cut sporting, gold chain accented playa (which marque later unsuccessfully tried to imitate ), chris moved on to form s.t.p.. though it was short lived, the memory of this - the truely legenday lineup of post mortem lives on in the hearts, and souls of all who were present in the early formative years of the now historic belmont mass. scene.......................................................
