Cute website (mainly for kids) about the Nativity
Keisha Castle-Hughes plays Mary (Jesus' Mother) in the movie. You can view her work profile (which at this point is not that extensive) here . She was noted by her moving role in the movie "Whale Rider" in the year 2002.

She also played the role as Queen of Naboo in the "Star Wars" movie "Revenge of the Sith". Her portrayal of Mary in this movie was great. She maintain a dignity of what I would like to think Mary would have maintained. I like how she showed that even though she didn't know how, God will provide a way for His Will to come to pass. The responsibility of being the Mother of the Messiah must have weighed on Mary and this movie and her portrayal shows it.

She could have been a bit more "child-like" especially a the beginning to depict how this task given to Mary by God changed her. That is just my opinion though. It would have shown that she was a child who accepted such a trial, so God chose well. Overall though Kaisha did a great job. She seems like a good young woman to get to know.
Oscar Isaac he played the role of Joseph in the movie. I thought his characterization was very moving. He sold me as the type of man who would take on this task. I never realized how arduous the journey would have been for him. Mr. Isaac did a great job! He is very cute as well so I would be very happy to meet him. I believe that he has the talent and the drive to be a real star!
OSCAR ISAAC's INTERVIEW AT VATICAN PREMIERE
Shohreh Aghdashloo , who played Elizabeth, is an insanely wonderful actress. I must admit that she came to my attention after her Oscar nomination and subsequent role in the show 24 that is one my favorites shows.

I was extremely happy to see her in this film. She brought such dignity to her role. She brought class and humility to the role and she seems to me to be a very class and humble lady. She is very inspirational and I would be very glad to meet her.

Criticism of the movie:
It is interesting to me how people can be so closed minded. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions. No matter the philosophies, religion or lack thereof of a critic or reviewer, it is critical to notice that this story is very simple even though there are complexities on the religious aspects of the subject matter.
This is a story about humble people who are given extraordinary tasks and responsibilities. They took them on with dignity and faith that things will turn out alright even though they are unaware of the outcome of these tasks. The child in question even though He came from humble beginnings was meant to change the entire world.
No matter who you are and where you come from, with faith and resolve you can make great changes in the world (even if it is your immediate world). Your actions and your decisions can affect many. It is a great responsibility to be a human being and the fact that there are so many that are willing to take that on is a mark that even though we fail many times we have hope that we can prevail in a world that in many ways is very evil and uncertain.
The great thing is that we don't have to face the evil and uncertainty alone. That is one of the reasons for the coming of the Messiah and why He lived and He died and resurrected. Our lives have meaning and they can be of great use for humanity if we are open.
The Nativity Story: Contemplating Mary's Journeys of Faith paperback
Not a book but a DVD: True Story of the Nativity
Jesus is my everlasting and most loving Hero. He deserves to be praised and glorified through media such as films. I hope that this movie opens the eyes to many people who still to this day don't know him.
Superman and all these other "heroes" are fun, but in reality there is only one true hero super and human: Christ. He does take on the problems of the whole world and He brings the message of Peace and Love unlike any other Prophet or Leader. He is a Savior and King of all the Universe. The Messiah has come for us. He has been given to us (so underserving of Him we are) as a gift to salve our wounds and bring us to a closer and meaningful relationship with the Father.
I believe that His sacrifice was not made in vain. We are still living in a world where not everyone follows Him, worships Him or even knows Him. I hope that media like this continues to be made and that it reaches those that are seeking for Him and perhaps don't know it yet.
The writer(s), the director, the producers, the cast and New Line Cinema are also heroes for conceptualizing, developing and releasing this movie especially now that the atmosphere surrounding Christmas is so bizarre.
