About Me

TREPANATION
Trepanation is the story of a failed marriage, a freak accident, and the hope of redemption. For Tucker and Jaime, the honeymoon is over; though married only a short time, their love seems to be falling apart. Jaime has been very patient with Tucker, who is ashamed to tell his family of his wife.
Things take a turn for the worse when Tucker's philandering lifestyle becomes too obvious to dismiss. Things begin to build towards a head. Just as confrontation seems imminent, tragedy strikes. Tucker is the victim of a freak traffic accident, one that leaves him near death's door. Though he survives the incident, the road to recovery is long and difficult, especially since the accident has caused terrible damage to his memory. This is especially difficult for Jaime; Tucker cannot remember her, and his parents do not trust her. Over the months, it seems that Jaime has disappeared from his memory. So, she chooses to disappear altogether, leaving him in the care of his family.
Months later, Tucker begins to truly recover. He can walk and talk normally. And though the memories are problematic, he is working with a therapist to reclaim them. Through these sessions, he comes to remember Jaime, and his life with her. However, he can only seem to remember the most bitter interactions, skewed in his own mind by rationalization and shifted blame. In his mind's eye, Jaime becomes the bad guy, the one who's wronged him. Tucker's psychiatrist recommends that he rely on sensory triggers to release these hidden memories, a method that proves vivid and effective. But as the memories return, so does the truth of these events. And with the truth comes the guilt. As Tucker realizes the mess he had made of his marriage, he longs for a chance to make amends. He decides that he must find out where his wife has disappeared to. But what will he say to her? Is there any salvageable future between the two of them?
"Trepanation" is a medical procedure in which a hole is drilled into the patient's skull. In ancient times, it was believed that this method was suitable for releasing demons and evil thoughts. Tucker has a hole in his head as a result of the accident, which has a dramatic effect on his moral fiber.
