About Me

I am the lead singer of Winslow, a soul/rock group from Cleveland, Ohio. At some point...you must stop being the kid with the potential and start being the man who surpasses that potential. I stand today at that crossroads. The music of my band is my heart and soul on display for the world. I believe in us, I believe in my dreams, and I appreciate to everyone who takes the time to listen.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Winslow Is: Maurice Martin- Vocals Matt Tieman- Sax Neal Camptbell- Guitar Curtis Tate- Keys and Trumpet Justin Hofmann- Drums Brian Robertson- Bass
Influences: Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Ray Charles, Billie Holiday,Ella Fitzgerald, Brian McKnight, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The O'Jays, Gladys Knight, Al Green, Maroon 5, Eric Clapton, Freddie Jackson, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Bill Withers, Grover Washington Jr., Babyface, Johnny Gill, Jonathan Butler, Nat King Cole
Sounds Like: Built around solid songwriting and the powerfully smooth vocals of seeming soul-singer-icon-in-waiting Maurice Martin, the 10-track album offers hints of old school Al Green ("You and I)" and Stevie Wonder ("Tango Between the Lines") mixed with a modern aesthetic ("Breakdown") that will invariably draw Maroon 5 comparisons. In all honesty, Winslow creates a certain amount of musical integrity lost on Adam Levine and company.

Singer Maurice Martin is a performer in the truest sense. He doesn’t seem to care who’s watching, but by the look in his eyes, you can just tell doing it makes him soar.

The band's new album, "Crazy Kind of Love," features 10 songs of great writing and playing by a band that has taken its time to learn to create something new, something different that will have people talking once the band gets some well-deserved publicity for their album that does more than just help revitalize the soul genre, it kicks it to the next level.
