About Me

NEWS FLASH:TONIGHT 24th MAY 2009 SOUTHEND AIR SHOW SPECIAL DOWN THE SUNROOMS...... Everyone can catch me Dj'ing down The Sunrooms (upstairs) 2nite alongside Eddie Bammeke. full on air show mix. THIS ONE NOT TO BE MISSED!2nd april 2009 steve zorro & digsy doin all day session on klash fm 92.2fm playin digital dub and 2hr dubstep mix by me. the dub starts at noonlast fidget photo's link on dontstayin.comhttp://www.dontstayin.com/uk/southend-on-sea/t he-royal-hotel/2008/may/04/gallery -297470/home/photok-94403 ............................................................ ........big thank to all the crew who made fidget happen steve hearn, dave rave doors, stu and richard the sound boy. class boys!! ............................................................ ......I not really sure when i first started DJ'in, when i was a kid i use to mess around with old street sounds electro albums, on 2 tape decks, record a bit, then record a bit of something else. took fucking weeks to do a c90. then tryed mixing on my mates brothers decks way back in the day, then in i think 1986 i got some shit citronics, messed around on then for a couple of years. then finding out there was such a thing called "SL1210s" then got myself a set pritty much staight after. if it was'nt for you vicky osbourne zorro would never of been. wonder what ever happend to you? one of my first things i done was "planet fm" the first of many class radio stations southends had to offer. then as a result of that i became a resident @ the "Hadleigh suite" it was only here i truely learnt how to mix, you had to teamed up with john smith & tony levene, i never could work out why you brought the drain pipe to the planet studio tony?, there are other was to discise your voice mate.. a string of bookings to play house / after parties became a normal weekend for us chosen few. i think when i started there was only about 10 dj's playing out on the underground tip, me, tony levene, john smith, alen tag, mark gore, matty h, henry "the spin back" hyde, mark summers, mr cheese adam carter and a few others. when we was'nt going to things like world dance, clink st, berrick manor or the chicken shack we were playing house parties in southend, a few of these became legindry, like kings road, accross the road from ac cabs hamlet court road or "peggy sues" in leigh. In early 1990 i met ricky & ralth through a friend, ricky was the first person in london to get 24hr licence for a club called " Attidude" in shepperds bush. very soon after "Trade" was born in the famous "Turnmills", after many visits to the venue i met jane woods ( mrs woods) and was asked to play some parties with her in london. heaven, trade, and rickys outgagous party in the soundshaft where i teamed up with fellow southend dj "john smith" to play this one off party. things started to pick up in southend's club world, i started playing more and more in my home town, people got braver due to the police and club owners getting more relaxed with the party scene. people dont realise what was started from southend back in the day, Beyond theropy, world dance, awol, planet fm, and a shit load of other things came out os southend, even n'joy, most of this due to the fact JP is a leigh on sea boy. in fact the very first would dance business address was a cottage here in southend most of us know, the home of the fury woodland creature.(Tony Levene). So next time you lot think all we got is a pier, think again. by 92 things really hotted up and i started playin one off event in places such as Free at last @ the dungens leybridge rd ( London) Quest @ The shrimpers club and a ton of others i cant even remember about. As the house music scene progressed my music taste became darker and harder. southenders love it bangin, as graham gold found out on many occasions when he played at things like the palace hotel, this was never a town with washed out housemusic due to its history with the rave events. lots think it all started up north, well you keep thinking what you like. wasnt only the factory you lot had? 95 - 96 was a great year with the start of "funny skins" @ shrimpers, Norman H was doing Jo fridays, and sub zero fm hotting things up. while eddie friendly was doing the skins, i started losing interrest in playing out, i never lost my love for underground music just stopped playin out as much, but a lot of that was down to my pain in the arse ex!! anyway just aswell really, why would i wanna play fuck about looking for music ( NOT ON THE INTERNET LIKE NOW), when i had the shrimpers on my doorstep.. after about a year of this i was playin again this time with jan harvey ( madam friction ) and rob burns ( Friction / burns recorings) with a series of hanky panky and spank me harder parties. when i could fit it in i spent hours and hours in the studio with artist " chi ad's dave yound, jay scarlett, then bio system was born as this was ment to be the sound system for the studio. one good thing did come out of this, i started playing at the nortorious aardvark parties. where me ed friendly, floyd played on a weekly basis around london for martin & tina, even colin hudd made a rare apprence at a party we were playin in clink st london. things like wood green, which every fucker and his dog knew about became the norm.. in 2000 i done my own night called "fidget" not to be confused with the one up north, yes barry we were the first to do fidget as you will see by the flyers and newspaper cut outs. these were bymonthly events held at the palace hotel, and zinc......................Influences....................Infl uences...............Influences............ ...Influences.................Over the years there are been many people who have influenced me, probably to many to mension. "john smith" for been one the the most talented dj's i have ever met, fuck knows why he stopped. all the southend bollox prob had something to do with it. now for my closest friend in the world, the vagrent aka tony levene, thank you so much for all your help and support. next in line, which may i ad comes a very close second is "add simeon" i couldnt of done fidget without you sir. or you mr hearn, thats steve hearn for those not in the know! pure fucking class!!! over the years i have play out with many dj's, but the one i have enjoyed playin out with the most has got to be eddie friendly - mr funny skin. no one drops a tune like mr friendly, well nearly everone, ive dropped a few in my time, as you well know mr friendly! i feel i must give a very big thank you to martin and tina, for taking a chance and playing me at arrdvarks, i must of done ok cos i played nearly everyone after that, thank you both for the experance. dec & jo + the boys, one blood one family. respect!! mr dave rave why the fuck didnt you ever play out more, you sir have got to be the king of the bedroom dj's. still id book you if i done another fidget, talking of which, i am very much considering doing another one off fidget, hopefully at the royal hotel, if not thats never stopped the fidget family in the past. so it would be great to hear some feedback, 7 years is a long time. but fidget aint changed, we still rock, . party on people! so come on mr coops lets have a party. big respect sir!!remember people leave some comments about fidget and we'll see what we can do.. ..........SPECIALTHANKS....................SPECIAL.THANKS... ............SPECIAL.THANKS Tony Levene, Add Simeon & Claire, Dec & jo +boys, Tracy Levene & girls, Andy bs ( Iadwm) & Andy, Martin & Tina, Lynn (Fluff), del & angila caine, hayley & luke caine, John o brian, Norman H, Steve Hearn and everyone @ hearn manor, John Lee, Adam Carter, Mrs Woods, Terry Champs, The Scarlet Family, John Foster & ple, John the bike, Shelly & her other half, Kev Vert, monster & the munch crew, Iain Dubbs & the brighton massive, Ruth slade, becky styles, clyde & holly, Amos, emir, Andre Powers, mark, jane & the rest of the aardvark crew, Bald rob, Beach, Eddie Friendly, Minka & gus, Eddie Bameke, jay Limo, The Noisengineer, Roger w, Chris Powell, Rich the fireman, pippa & kids, nicola fairhead, the gooner, Colin Hudd, Gavin M, Jay mod & Dave Nickles, Mark & Andy (Zinc), Daverave & Family, Doors, Floyd, Fetish Dave, pockets, Kim anglish & bev, The DubBrothers, Frodo & jo, sally, kirsty, matt bridgeford, nick bridgeford, nigel smoothy aka paul shaddow, oscer, steve coops, sarah hearn, Mr & Mrs Hearn, zara, simon bond, snakey ( big nose), stevie b, susie & daniella, jake ( mc sniper), tasha, vic xxx, zippy, jai & his misses, Madam Friction & rob burns, mark franklyn & nigel Champion ( n'joy), Reggae Music., henry & ed ( the sunrooms) good luck u2, and everyone who knows me in southend, And most of all Berni & Keith, Joy & mj ruggles, nigel Hill & the rest of my family.....And not forgetting. ...........................................................W EST HAM .
