About Me

Alan Rudd was born and raised on a farm in the Criner Hills south of Ardmore, Oklahoma, where he attended Plainview High School and upon graduation, with honors, attended junior college at Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK and East Central State University in Ada, OK on music scholarships and performed in the music ensembles, known as the Murray State Entertainers and the Oklahomans of East Central University. While attending the university, Alan also played intercollegiate football and honed his musical crafts in the nearby nightclubs on the weekends. After graduation from the university, Alan held coaching positions in several high schools in Oklahoma, including Konawa, Lone Grove, and Plainview (his alma mater) for about 15 years. While coaching in the Ada, Ok area, Alan got the opportunity to be the band leader in a local music show known as the Music Palace. At the Palace, Alan opened shows including Jerry Clower, T.G. Shepherd, & Roger Springer, along with a wealth of local talent. Alan came to Nashville in 1994 to record some of his own songs at Gene Breeden Studios and published a few of his songs with Gatlin Bros. Music Resources. He landed a song in the Dotty West Story “Big Dreams and Broken Hearts” which premiered on CBS television in February of 1995. In May of the same year a category four tornado destroyed his family’s home in Oklahoma, leaving him with a decision to make- rebuild or relocate. Alan soon moved his family to Lebanon, TN and finished a project he was co-producing with Mike Smith and the late Randy Hauser to compile his first CD, “Oklahoma Wind”. Alan continues to write songs, while teaching guitar, songwriting, and Physical Education in Williamson County Schools at Hillsboro Elementary and Middle School. Alan currently lives in Spring Hill, Tennessee with his wife, Marcia, and their youngest daughter, Alannah, who is quite the talented singer/songwriter herself. Alan also continues to perform in the Nashville area with a band of his close friends from time to time, Todd Warren (bass gtr), Billy LeJeune, (guitar), Roy Parker (drums), and his son Aaron (guitar/vocals).
