Myspace LayoutsBorn in ATLANTA on Dec. 16, 1980, Jamal STEELE was first influenced to forgo this journey of musical excellence after seeing fellow ATLiens Andre "3000" Benjamin and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton breakthrough the industry with their debut LP, "Southernplayalisticcadillacmusik". "Just to see another group of artists from this area succeed and not have to conform to what others think is popular or acceptable for hip-hop, it made me realize that anything was possible as long as you took your craft and hustle seriously and kept God first in all that you did.", stated STEELE.
In 1995, STEELE moved to Panama City, FL. There he started to develop into a force in the local hip-hop scene and in the SOUTHERN scene. In 2001, He established Hidden JEWEL Musik, a label that concentrated on working with artists that were being overlooked due to musical preference and geographical location. Being the franchise artist on Hidden JEWEL, the pressure is on Jamal to lead the label, as well as Hip-Hop, into a NU ERA of excellence and establish himself in the industry as a force that is SIMPLY PHENOMONAL. With an appearance on DJ Mick Boogie/The GAME's "Dope Game" mixtape, the stage was set for the release of his debut mix CD, "Prelude 2 A CLASSIC, Vol. 1", which is OUT NOW!
