Pause for a moment and imagine the psychedelic rock phenomenon that could arise from within the hardened walls of a 200 year old barn, resonating timelessly like a huge, ancient instrument itself...
The Rhythm Ship is an original rock'n'roll band which began as a series of informal jam sessions in just such a barn in Lebanon, ME during the summer of 2002, and was made up of about fifteen members of various local acts. Often described as "a breath of fresh air," even "spiritual," The Rhythm Ship is now comprised of the magnetic core of those musicians, whose main goal is to reconnect you to the lost art of climactic performance.
A Rhythm Ship show can range from an explosive 30-minute set to a thundering four-hour experience. Having been born from such diversity, the band's influences span a vast spectrum of music; no stone is left unturned!
The unexpected is incorporated whenever possible, whether it be a fogging, flashing washing machine or a 1936 Ford in a drum solo, or an eight-foot tall, inflating, translucent orb with an internal light show! Every performance is emotional, energetic, and unique, and the band continues to gather loyal friends and fans with every show.
