About Me
My father ran a Studio and music shop and I used to rush home after school so I could sit in the shop and listen to the various guitarist's that were in-between tours/gigs/albums that used to work there. I'd sit there watching and listening to them play for hours, facinated by how they could make the notes bend and sound different.
I got my first guitar, a fender strat, at the age of 6, but not until I had learnt 12 Chords and all the notes. I remember it was huge and really heavy and frankly too big, but it was electric... not like those nylon string ones the other kids had, mine was cool, not to mention loud!. My Brother used to make me play the rythm chords to AC/DC songs for hours while he practiced the lead guitar parts.
One of my main influences while learning to play, was Sammy Mitchell, he worked in my fathers shop and used to play Slide guitar, he was amazing. He played a semi steel-dobro and his girlfriend played Banjo. It was from watching and listening to them play that I got into different tunings. As a teenager got into various bands. my school band 'River' was followed by a number of all girl Rock bands playing bass, My Weird Sister, Guitar for Mustang Sally and Little T &A, I even played drums in one band 'Joyryde' but was frustrated as making a living from music wasn't easy.It was then I decided to try my hand at session work and joined an agency. This proved to be very fruitful and I gained valuable experience Singing, playing, giging, recording and touring with so many different bands Producers and artist's of all types of music. Neneh Cherry, Mel C, All Saints, Tommy Farragher, Steve Jervier, Creaming Jesus, Elastica, Francis Rossi, Montage, Jazz Black, Lucas to name a few.I have been lucky enough to work with some fantastic writers, musicians and producers over the years and now know why you have 2 ears, 2 eyes but only 1 mouth!I'm currently in the studio working on new tracks with John Hogg (Moke, Hooka Brown) and Jules Fenton (Kinky Machine, Mansun)and hope to be playing live soon. The tracks on here are rough mixes of some of the new songs, will be mixing and finishing the album in the next few months.
