The ovationz a musical trio who in, the course of their career, made outstanding to reggae music's development by ways of their unique vocals. Keith Fennel, George Hunter and Melvin Trusty, Allman Town Natives, Started out rehearsing at George's home. Then the YMCA where Derrick Barnett, famed musician and leader of the reknowed " Sagittarius Band," would often join them. From the onset in the early 1970's Horace Andy, Milton Henry and Jimmy LOndon ( " Foundation Messengers") provided steady encouragement. The Ovationz unique backing style can be heard on Jimmy London's " Living in the Ghetto" Keith Poppins " Prophesy Revealing, " Earl Sixteen's " Going to Africa".They meet the needs and taste of the public, The Ovationz have demonstrated captivating stage performance concert after concert, winning numerous awards at places such the Holiday Inn, National Arena, YMCA, Bohemia and Roots Entertainment Center. Their relatively short, but intense court appearances would include the likes of Berris Hammond, The MIghty Diamonds, JC Lodge, Sophia George the Tamlins, Leroy Smart and George Nooks. The motivation of the group is a direct manifestation of the explicit and expressive acculturation of entities such as the Social Development Co- operation and Senator Paul Miller.Their first recording " Too Much War" was recorded and published by a small, practically unknown label called "LGM." Phil Pratt, Junjo Lawes and Mikey Dread (DATC) were some of the better known Producers whom the Ovationz Trio worked with. Working especially close with Mikey Dread, The Ovationz demonstrated their talent for originality through their ability to express and convey their creativity through music. Their song, " Shy Girl", made it to the number (1) position on the London Reggae charts. In the mid 80's "Just as Guilty", "Boasting", "Give Thanks and Praise"," Forever Love", " Sweet Inspiration", and "Tell Me", another Mikey Dread production comlimented by the Roots Radic Band, also did quite well for the Ovationz.In recent years, mounting recognition for the Ovationz has produced new re-mixes and other flavored new materials. Though optimistic, the concerned vies is the difficulty faced by many talented individuals.
