Influences: My current inspiration comes from all in the "Sounds Like" section below and others like them. Earliest influences were James Brown and Chuck D; vids of the Life in LA (never actually got down there and it's the biggest miss of my life) and the West Coast turntablists; early UK influences were Pogo & Ty's open mic nights, Scratch @ Scala, Metalheadz Sunday Sessions, The Coop and Gilles Peterson. And of course, fam, friends, and all manner of random Life: the Buddha Dhamma, Gandhi, Howard Dean, David Byrne ..
Sounds Like: The following - and so many like them - are influences on both my DJing and my production. I’d love to connect with fans of:
Alchemist, Altered Native, Apa-Tight, Babu, Baby J, Benji B, Black Milk, Black Starr, Blackalicious, Blakey, Braintax, Chain of Command, Common, C.O.N.E, Crissy Cris, Dag Nabbit, David J, Dilated Peoples, Distance, Doc Brown, Fallacy, Flying Lotus, Ghost, Gilles Peterson, Immortal Technique, James Brown, Jay Electronica, Jazzy Jeff, JBs, J Dilla, Just Blaze, Kano, Kanye West, Keno-1, Klashnekoff, KRS-1, Kyza, Lethal, Lewis Parker, Loefah, London Possee, Lowkey, Manage, Marley Marl, Mentat, DJ MK, Mos Def, Mr. Thing, Native Tongues, NSM, Optimus Prime, Pharoahe Monch, Phi-Life Cypher, DJ Premier / Primo, Public Enemy, Quasimoto, Rakim, Rodney P & Skitz, The Roots, DJ Sandrinho, Seiji, Semtex, Skibba-dee, Skinnyman, Snuff & the Speakers Corner crew, Stig & Syntax, Swizz Beats, Talib Kweli, Terra Firma, Tor, Tribe Called Quest, Ty, Yungun, Zero dB - and so, so many more ...
