The song remains the same for some artists, but Didrik Thott is always searching for new ways to express his musical innovations. The 29-year-old Stockholm-based singer, lyricist and bassist started playing music at age 12, and hasn't looked back since. Early on in his career, Didrik played in several bands and began writing his own material - a talent he uses widely today writing songs for top international artists such as Westlife ("Obvious", "Amazing", "Hit You With The Real Thing" and "Maybe Tomorrow"), Celine Dion ("Let Your Heart Decide" and "Tous les secrets de ton coeur"), Lindsay Lohan ("Disconnected"), Clay Aiken ("Sacrificial Love"), Danni Minogue ("I'm Sorry"), Charice ("Nothing"), Jon Peter Lewis ("Break The Silence" and "If You Don't Mean It"), Thomas Godoj ("I Don't Feel The Same"), Kevin Borg ("Street Lights"), Booty Luv ("Say It") and Ameerah ("The Sound Of Missing You") which he also produced as part of the producing team Airborn.
He formed his first band, soul-flavoured Direction Post in 1995. Showing serious chops from the start, the band won important music competitions (Music Direkt a.o.) and toured around Sweden. Although the band broke-up shortly thereafter, Didrik was playing for keeps, and found new channels for his abilities.
In 1999, he formed the rock group Pilot with his brother Sebastian, Carl Björsell and Carl Falk. As winners of several high-profile music competitions they became major players on the Stockholm music scene. Today they are all still working together under that name but behind the scene - writing and producing songs for other artists in a studio in Stockholm.
Since creative wizards never rest, Didrik has also contributed his talents to commercials, musicals, television and film productions.
Didrik likes to challenge himself and is constantly experimenting with different styles. He’s got a unique and versatile sound with a range from rock, r’n’b, pop, dance and country. And with truly great melodies and direct lyrics Didrik is a highly sought-after topliner.
