About Me

Blood Orange @ Junktion 7, Nottingham - 20 September 2007 Although a venue of typically modest, understated proportions, the well-trodden boards of Junktion 7 are, tonight, subject to first-rate live acts of a distinctly more dynamic persuasion. Goth-tinged melodic rock act, Blood Orange, drip with stunning, almost studio-smooth sound quality. Lead vocalist, Neil Padgett, leans precariously over the edge of the stage, his voice intoxicatingly sweet yet stuck through with an atmospheric touch of needling spite. Countless intricate melodies are executed with flawless precision, both luxuriant and acidic-edged in character. The frantic riffs of Tongue Tied possess a captivating, crowd-pleasing, yet almost manic-depressive energy. (Faye Coulman - Sandman Magazine)
