PICKING UP THE BITS OF SANITY

About Me

There are plenty of interesting facts and oddities for you to discover about me. I'm a labyrinth wrapped in an enigma smothered in secret sauce. I have an eclectic array of interest and perspectives. If my friends had to describe me in one word they would probably say "observant." I enjoy noticing the little details of life that make things unique. I consider myself a socially conscious person with a lighthearted view on life. I strongly believe in fostering my intellectual and physical growth. I earned a degree in Health Science at CSULB. I'm a free thinker and I don't believe in defining myself or restricting others with preset gender or social roles. Even though I prefer spending my time doing contemplative and retrospective activities I usually get more of anemotional high from being silly and mischievous. All in all I'm an easy person to get along with. .

All those with those feel good vibrations. I run the gamut when it comes to friends. If your mind meanders through insightful thoughts and perceptions of the world, or if we just share a common interest don't hesitate to drop me a line.

I really enjoy playing Texas Hold'em, so if you ever need and extra player, just let me know when, where and what's the buy-in.

Music:

I love sound! Immersing myself in an array of eclectic noise is my window to various states of bliss and consciousness. Acid jazz, trip-hop, experimental noise and turntablism are amongst the top genres I find hypnotic and wondrous. Below is a small spectrum of albums and artists that I have admiration for.

Movies:

When it comes to cinema I got little room for Hollywood trash on my screen. I need something that carries me away to alternate realties, new perspectives or states of wonder. I want innovation, uniqueness, insight, creativity and beauty. Here are few flicks that I would recommend to anyone that has an appreciation for quality film.

Back in the day I had to have my daily fix of monitor radiation. Now a days there only a few shows that can hold my interest. Below is a laundry list of shows throughout the years that have left their mark on me.

Heroes:

Expands beyond the boundaries of reality and extends the limits of imagination. Arguably the most dynamic and socially rebellious visual art expression. I'm glad to have grown up at a time when animation has evolved to captivate and challenge an adult audience. Here is a collection of shorts, programs and films that have fascinated me at one time or another in my life.

This is a short I discovered at the Sick & Twisted Festival of Animation. It teaches us that all is not what it seems in animation.
Many of you younger cats probably didn't know that the Pink Panther had his own cartoon. Classic slap stick and Vaudeville comedy.
One of the edgiest, oddball and creative cartoon series I have ever had the good graces to view. A real 1960's cartoon (Sealab 2020) transformed into an acid induced realty of non-sense and madness, called Sealab 2021.
Super Friends! Who didn't love this cartoon back in the day? Yet a look back demonstrates a somewhat corny and plot hole filed series. Here is an episode with the plot holes exposed. As a bonus I collected various parodies.
This is one of my all time favorite cartoon shorts. It is an early work from the creators of Courage the Cowardly Dog. I saw this cartoon at my first Sick & Twisted cartoon festival and it charmed my funny bone.
Before Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings movies there were the adventures of Dungeons and Dragons. This adventure series was the first to capture my imagination. For it's time it was unique in character creation and story line. I just hated that stupid unicorn!
One of many unique and creative animations presented on MTVs Liquid Television back in the early 90's. This is a dark and tragic tale done with stunning poetic imagery.
