Kevin Turrentine (PLATINUM) was born on November 22nd,1992 In Anninston Alabama.His roots were grown in the state of Virginia where he lived most of his life. Started Rapping at the age Of 11 ,but didn't get to a real studio till the age of 14. His brother "Cornell Turrentine" taught him about punchlines ,metaphors,and other categories and told him what he have to do to be a Famous rap star. The year of 2004 he formed a rap group Titled "MOST WANTED" Which included 5 members,although they did not have access to record at a studio ,they recorded on a Karoake machine to start their career off. They freestyled in front of different crowds during the time period.Year later the group was split up,because of members moving from Virginia,and some gave up their rap career. Platinum was not discourage to what he did ,and the situation at the time.He felt it was his time to go SOLO and do his own thing.
2006 he recorded his first track that was ever made "Got Ice" along with "Stackin Papa". He pushed the single "Got Ice" which has been heard throughout his city and became known for that song. As he starts to Step up his game level after level people recognizes him more and sees through his talent because they think he's young and a amazing talented artist. Most people didn't know that the teenage rapper writes his own music, produces, make his own beats, and design graphics. People were amazed after hearing that the young teenage rapper has so many talents and is a self-made person.
The year of 2007 more fame started comming his way. He had promo going on for the song "Got Ice',but at the time he wish he could of been the first to blow up from the internet before the rapper "Soulja Boy" being that myspace and other websites are very promotional for artists,but as you know "1st comes 1st serve". One thing he put in thought was "what will he have to do to be more recognized nationally". Year of 2008 Platinum dropped his first mixtape "Mr.Icey V1" on June 25th. The young hustler pushed his mixtape in the streets and gave out over 100 Copies to people. The Single "Got Ice" was featured on the mixtape. Did his first show at a Birthday Bash..Made Days hotter than usual temperature,he felt know one could Out Blow Him. Late october he dropped his secondary mixtape "SWAG REVENGE" (Oct. 31.2008) Rated 5 Stars over 300 Download in 2 months."The young artist tells F.A.M.E MAGAZINE "Hard Work Means Major Guap(Money)" he could never stop working. His hit singles of 2008 was "PRESIDENTIAL ISH(OBAMA)","SHE GOT SWAG",AND "BESTMAN FRESHMAN",and "Sucka4Love"..The hits destroyed the net. After months of mixtape he felt it was time for him to keep grindin Feedin the streets with more.
2009 Platinum is more successful at the age of 16 and making major moves in the industry buildin hiself a big buzz. The Month of february he produced his hit "FRESHBOY MAGIC" Which got more plays than 'Got ice' and his secondary mixtape hits. The most major hit of the year that sparked the WEB and Shows was "GOT DAT JUICE". Platinum says "Got Dat Juice is a single that will bring more lady fans. See I do it for the ladies and the fellaz don't get me wrong,but think it like this..Whose gonna be quik to buy your album "Ladies".to be honest i dont even buy albums anymore. Technology now days is crazy". Got Dat Juice with over 20,000 hits played over and over becomes the hit of the year following his new inspirtaional single "Iced Out Shawty". Platinum is his own talent he tells F.A.M.E AND NEXT2BLOW MAGAZINE "I'm Not a Bow Wow,Romeo,Soulja boy,or a Yung Berg..Im Platinum aka Mr.Icey the best hit maker there ever was and ever will be. The month of May ,Platinum drop his third most anticipated mixtape "EASTSIDE" that got over 200 downloads just in 4 Days,now isn't that amazing???How does he do it? The mixtape featured the hits "Got Dat Juice","FRESHBOY MAGIC","Iced Out Shawty",and "7 Jayz A Week".The mixtape involves beef with ex-members of his Label "UpSouth Ent" Throwing shots at them ,and others tracks such as "Unloyal",and "You Ain't No king".Mixtape became Top 5 On Datpiff.Com,and also Rated 5 star along with best mixtape Hits. Myspace Music Magazine Platinum says " I don't sign with anything that given even if its a major deal,i learned i have to becareful with what i sign,and i will never sign with an independent label,I just wanna be in the Major leagues".
