About Me

"Shamanism is not a religion, it's a set of techniques, and the principal technique is the use of psychedelic plants. What psychedelics do is they dissolve boundaries, and in the presence of dissolved boundaries, one cannot continue to close one's eyes to the ruination of the earth, the poisoning of the seas, and the consequences of two thousand years of unchallenged dominator culture, based on monotheism, hatred of nature, suppression of the female, and so forth and so on. So, what shamans have to do is act as exemplars, by making this cosmic journey to the domain of the Gaian ideas, and then bringing them back in the form of art to the struggle to save the world. The planet has a kind of intelligence, that it can actually open a channel of communication with an individual human being. The message that nature sends is, transform your language through a synergy between electronic culture and the psychedelic imagination, a synergy between dance and idea, a synergy between understanding and intuition, and dissolve the boundaries that your culture has sanctioned between you, to become part of this Gaian supermind, I mean I think it's fairly profound, it's fairly apocalyptic." -- Terence Mckenna[][][][][][][]These words by the late, brilliant Terence McKenna, provide an encompassing focus of the markedly significant memes finding attention and recognition in the monkeybody known as Jordan Zabel. Jordan's main area of interest is the expansion of awareness, both of self and of limitless self, through the medium of the psychedelic trancedance ritual. Dance is a form of active meditation recognized by peoples all over the globe. Jordan began DJing electronic music about three years ago under the name DJ Jordangerous, playing primarily electro and house. After experiencing a moment of eschatalogical clarity at a psy gathering in Arkansas, his awakening took the form of Moondoggy, which he can now be seen preforming under throughout the midwest. His unique style of mind-altering forest psychedelia and funky basslines have provided for a one-of-a-kind dancefloor experience. He can also be seen adding a thick headspace and wacky flavor to mornings and chill stages under the alias Qing Jao. Outside of music, Jordan has recently re-enrolled in college. After graduating from Miami High School in 2003 he attended OU drama school on a playwriting scholorship. A stubborn attachement to hopeless romanticism and an appreciation for Kerouac left him couch-surfing from central Oklahoma down through southern Texas over the next few years before he would wind up back in Miami where he is currently finishing up his associate degree in Mass Communications at NEO. His favorite colors are purple and green. He really likes plants.

My Interests

consciousness: the origins and mathematics and science of conciousness, the limits of human potential, but mostly the 'why' of awareness
