Hi and welcome to my DIVINEFIRE site. I am CHRISTIAN LILJEGREN the singer and founder of DIVINEFIRE together with JANI STEFANOVIC. I have released all three albums through my record company RIVEL RECORDS. The albums are also been licenced to JAPAN, EUROPE & RUSSIA:
THE DIVINEFIRE STORY SO FAR … 2004-2006
DIVINEFIRE was formed in early springtime of 2004 with the collaboration of Finnish composer and drummer, Jani Stefanovic and vocalist Christian Liljegren(NARNIA).
Jani Stefanovic has been playing and touring with the bands Am I Blood, Sins of Omission, and Renascent. They also added bass player Andreas Olsson (Narnia, Rob Rock & Stormwind) to the band a couple of months later and they decided pretty soon that these members will be the holy trinity of DIVINEFIRE.
DIVINEFIRE combines the heaviness from the more melodic extreme metal with the melodies from the symphonic style of hardrock/metal while also blending in beautiful vocal harmonies. The result has been a tremendous mix and it takes the listener on an illustrious adventure and celebrated musical journey.
Christian, Jani & Andreas understood this very well and have worked very hard during the spring of 2004 to deliver a powerful debut album. The band finally signed a great deal with King Records in Japan and the album titled “Glory Thy Name” was released the 18th of DECEMBER 2004 in Japan and in 2005 through Rivel Records and Metal Heaven in Europe. Their second album, “Hero”, followed in late 2005.
When DIVINEFIRE started write material for the 3rd album “Into A New Dimension” in early 2006, songs just came naturally once again and within 2-3 months all songs were written. This time Jani & Christian wanted a harder approach mixing the melodic extreme metal elements with more symphonic neoclassic metal.
This time they have also sacrificed a lot more time and money into the production and once again used Thomas “Plec” Johansson who has also mixed & mastered the previous records.
Through studio owner Thomas they found a new guitar hero named Patrik Gardberg (AMMOTRACK). His guitar style is comparable to John Petrucci, Michael Romeo, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. On keyboards joined Anders Berlin, a friend of Andreas Olsson. Anders has his own band SHINETH and is also the live keyboard player of NARNIA. This also goes for drummer Andreas Johansson.
This great live line-up did a Japanese tour together with VISION DIVINE & SKY LARK in October 2005 and played in Scandinavia as well to push “Glory Thy Name” and “Hero”.
Musically “Into A New Dimension” has a harder metal direction but also offers still very melodic and symphonic elements. Barry Haldan, the ex vocalist of RENASCENT, is guesting on some growl parts to make the production complete.
The band hopes to attract fans from both the melodic metal scene and the melodic extreme metal scene of bands like CHILDREN OF BODOM, ARCH ENEMY, SCAR SYMMETRY, SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, RHAPSODY, DRAGONFORCE, MALMSTEEN & SYMPHONY X.
DIVINEFIRE has it’s own unique style of metal and again Christian Liljegren, Erik Mårtensson and Thomas Vikström worked hard with the vocal arrangements. Jani Stefanovic worked out all the orchestral arrangements. DIVINEFIRE is again working with Carl Johan Grimmark (NARNIA) & Patrik Gardberg (AMMOTRACK) for lead guitar solos.
I am very happy for our third album of INTO A NEW DIMENSION and on top of that it topped the album chart in SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE before HAMMERFALL. That is a good statement for DIVINEFIRE and our aim to show the world the light of JESUS CHRIST through our music!
My personal favourite of the the three albums we have released are INTO A NEW DIMENSION. I am proud of all albums we have released and happy for the response all over the world especially our JAPANESE fans have been very dedicated. I will never forget our tour in JAPAN in 2005. One of the finest moments in my musical career!!!
Here comes some more information about me:
I am 36 years old and I live in ESKILSTUNA, SWEDEN. I work as a singer and run my own record company RIVEL RECORDS.
My biggests interest are music, sports, fishing,watching movies, spending time with my family and friends. My faith in JESUS CHRIST keeps me alive!!!
My main priority band is NARNIA and will always be NARNIA. I am blessed,happy and very proud to be NARNIA's frontman & singer. I formed NARNIA together with my dear friend CARL JOHAN GRIMMARK in 1996. We have now been on the road together for over 10 years and my passion and fire to reach people all over the world with music with a message about the love of Jesus Christ is stronger than ever! .
I am looking forward for the future of NARNIA to make more music, release albums and tour the world. Hope to see you on tour with NARNIA!
I started my musical career in 1986 with my brother SIMEON LILJEGREN in a band called SEVEN SEAS. Since that I have been involved in many bands and done lots of albums & touring and it has been a tremendous journey.
I have also been involved in many recording bands/projects and released many albums besides NARNIA like MODEST ATTRACTION, WISDOM CALL, FLAGSHIP, DIVINEFIRE, AUDIOVISON and more. Through music I got the chance to visit many places and have done concerts in following countries FAROE ISLANDS (DENMARK), JAPAN, MEXICO, ISRAEL, GERMANY, SWITZERLAND, FINLAND, SWEDEN, NORWAY, ENGLAND & HOLLAND so far.
As I said earlier I am looking forward for the future. I hope I got the chance to visit many more countries and places and meet some of you on our concerts. Thanx for all your support, love & prayers through the years.
