Life without friends is like a day without sunshine

About Me

I am a retired Naval officer who spent 26 years on active duty. I am married 41 years and have 3 grown sons and 6 grandchildren. I basically grew up in the fifties when life was simple and care free. West Philadelphia was my turf. Cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, mom & pop pizza joints, drive-in movies, and drive-in diners were the popular items of the times. Crime was not an issue. Doors were left unlocked during the day. Drugs were non-existent. Sounds like utopia, dosen't it? Well, life in the fifties was exactly that. Technology was in its infancy. Black and white TV was the rage with only 3 channels. Telephones only came in black and they were dial. No cell phones, no computers, no video games, no VCRs. We entertained ourselves by playing outside from sun up to dinner time. It was a marvelous era. Too bad it's gone. I guess that makes me a relic. But what wonderful memories! I now live in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, supposedly in my golden years of retirement. I rarely watch the news cause none of it is ever good. I keep my front door locked and avoid going out at night when all the crazies are roaming the streets. Such is the cycle of life.

My Interests

Making new friends on myspace.

I'd like to meet:

All of my friends

Music:

Obviously, my preferences are not hard rock or rap. When I listen to music, it needs to be MUSIC not screaming.

Movies:

I love realistic movies about Native Americans. I have always had a great fondness for those kind of movies. Being half-Italian, mafia movies also interest me, as well as the Star Wars series, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Tarentino movies. Kill Bill, Vol I and II, are my favorites.

Television:

Amazing Race, Survivor, Big Brother, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Jeopardy, 24, CSI, Lost, Criminal Minds top the list. But lets not forget football and baseball games. Never miss an NFL game on TV.

Books:

Who has time.
World Clock by Crazyprofile.com

Heroes:

Our military, teachers, police, firefighters

Women and Me

I have long realized that I am more comfortable around women than men.  Why is that?  To understand my feelings, I must look at my upbringing.  I was raised in a family of domina...
