In an age where innovation is criticised and originality is passé, many artists fail to pave a new direction of sound and ambiance while rewarding their fans with the greatest elements of energy and force. It would be hard to find an original 5 piece line up who have the artistic grounds, knowledge, fun and enthusiasm that scope Cafe Medula.
With the permanent line-up hitting Melbourne in 2007, this unique group have challenged the typical practise of music, dipping their instruments into hard rock, progressive sounds and even funk.
The line-up consists of Gus Golding (Keys), Matt Pate (Drums), Xavier Appiotti (Guitar), Amy Campbell (Bass) and Perry Kakridas (vocals) - five distinctive personalities which bring character like presence to the stage or record.
With their professional and enthusiastic approach, Cafe Medula have had the pleasure at playing with amazing Melbourne acts such as Mammal, Calling all Cars, Rincon, Rook, Gretchen Lewis and template at a huge spread of Melbourne venues, including The Ding Dong Lounge, The Espy, Hifi Bar, Casey’s Hotel, Inflation, Ruby's Lounge, The Arthouse, The East Brunswick Club, The Portland Hotel, The Evelyn plus many more venues/clubs.

Cafe Medula hit you with some of the most creative, atmospheric and enjoyable tunes at the forefront of Australia’s Rock scene.
Cafe Medula will be releasing their first E.P late 2009, so be prepared for sounds which will make you laugh, dance, scream and be completely consumed by.
