I have always loved hip hop but, started out writing poetry. Once I seen I had the talent to tell a story through written and spoken word, I was inspired to put it to music. So, when hip hop hit the scene with the original kings and queens back in the 80's, I put together some samples; tested it out and here I am today after growing pains, relationship rises and falls, and basically life.
I am that "Reality Check" for hatin ass chics and dudes. At the same time I am the voice of the everyday female who goes through life facing those everyday challenges. Therefore, I'm writing my experiences to music to either "check" or make you "check yo self". I have many stories to tell, whether it was me or someone I knew. I hope you like what you hear and I will keep it comin because I'm still livin out here. That's what makes me unique. I write and arrange all of my songs based upon how the music speaks to me. And yes, that's ya girl singing as well.
As a gifted songwriter and singer, I also got the skills to spit rhymes with the best of them. I opened for Chingy when he came through and shut it down. Although I have been featured on many projects out of Columbus, OH either lending a sultry hook or a hot 16 bars; I'm currently in the studio recording with my “Fam Power Unit” crew as well as my second solo release due out early 2007. Besides the music game, I'm an experienced standout print, fashion and runway model in which I enjoy very much. A woman of several different talents, I'm considered the “total package.
Ladies I feel you. Fellas I love yall too, as long as yall keep it real. Most of my closest friends "ARE MALE" and they love me just as much as I love them. Oh yeah....I wanna send a shout out to them hatas.....Y'all are the biggest inspiration of all.....This is for you! Look out for the EP coming out in February 2007 entitled Reality Check.
