About Me

My name is Josh Moore.
I list my interests as Music, Computers, and Foreign Languages. So yeah...
I am a proud WREK op. WREK is the Georgia Tech student operated station -- check it out . I do specials on there every once in a while in addition to being a regular weekly op. As far as my interest in music goes, I also produce some stuff every once in a while under the name Surrealist. I don't make new stuff much any more (damn my poor creativity), but a few of the good things that I've done can be heard on my music MySpace .
I'm into computing, thus the fact that I'm a Computer Science major. I like programming, even though I haven't done enough of it in the past. It's always been an on and off thing for me, mostly because I'm just inconsistent like that. The whole thing started back in 6th or 7th grade with QBASIC though. Around 8th or 9th grade I started picking up on C++, and now in class I'm learning and using Java. Other than the bit of programming that I do (almost exclusively for homework assignments these days), I like the computer in the same way that a fly likes the bug zapper.
Languages kick so much ass. Go here now and maybe you'll understand. I speak German better than anything (around a conversational level), and I speak a fair amount of Spanish as well. Funny how it used to be the other way around. Anyway, I'm pursuing a German minor in addition to my degree in Computer Science, and I'm hoping to study in Munich for two semesters next year. We'll see how that works.
RANDOM FACTS:
- I waste time a lot doing nothing in particular.
- In conjunction with the prior random fact, I procrastinate. A lot.
- When I take a test, I have a habit of screwing around with my hair a lot. You can tell when I've just gotten done with a test when I have Flock of Seagulls hair, and by the fact that for ten minutes afterwards I'm walking around trying to straighten my hair out.
- I have some strange obsession with Rastafari here lately.
- I like those embarrassingly homosexual 80's pop songs (you know, any random Madonna song from then that's good, Michael Jackson, anything along those lines) way too much.
- I am obsessive about grammar, so watch out when you're around me -- if you use incorrect grammar, my respect for you will decrease by exactly 2% per error.
Meh.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

MADDOX

- Björk. She's pretty, she's musically talented (in electronics nonetheless), she has an umlaut in her name and she's insane. Basically, she is the ideal woman.
- Quincey Jones, the best producer I've ever heard. He produced most of Michael Jackson's tracks.
- Michael Jackson. I'd start playing the bassline to Billie Jean, drums and other instruments would come out of nowhere, he would start singing, and everyone would rock out.
- Alistair Crowley. This is the man that, around the 1950's I believe, took a bunch of really old texts about old Wicca, took out all the socially unacceptable practices involving things like human sacrifice, and arranged what was left to form the modern concept of Wicca. Wow. (Note.1 to people that can't read the box to the left that says I'm a Protestant Christian: I'm not a witch, I just find this fascinating. Note.2: Yes, Ozzy Osbourne made a song about him, Mr. Crowley. Note.3: No, this isn't what got me interested in him [Crowley].)
- Martin Luther, the man that started the Protestant reformation. Wow again.
- The guy that made Pac-man. God, I love Pac-man.

Hello again, right brain!

I thought I had inadvertently destroyed the precious right side of my brain, and with it my ability to appreciate literature, film, and other such things. I thought that Tech had succeeded in turning ...

The nature of catfights at Tech.

So there's this girl that we'll call A. She has memorized pi to the hundredth digit. She has an odd obsessive quirk in that whenever anyone says "3.1415" around her, she has to finish it to the hundre...

I am the overlord of the lines, as well as that of obsessing and planning far, far ahead.

My linear algebra midterm was today. Due to the presence of a proof problem, I knew that there was going to be a rape today. Fortunately, I incorrectly predicted which party would be on the receiving ...

Bah @ writing.

Sometimes I want to write. The problem here is that most often that about which I want to write is too personal to put in a blog for all to see. The only way I can bring myself to write something is i...
