About Me

I've got various music-type profiles but this is the personal one. It's all about music usually with me, that's what I do. Own & manage, along with a select few people, a record label called Rocksector Records, manage bands, do some promotion, still playing guitar in a covers band called Kick The Kick which is more fun these days even though we pride ourselves in doing a decent job. Married since 1987 (quite an achievement these days), 3 kids all of which are pretty much grown up. Just for friends, this profile, so not bothered about bands & so on.... got lots of other profiles to concentrate on that. I got some stories to tell I guess, been a very interesting few years especially the past 2. More of that another time maybe. Good to meet you!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The Dalai Lama. This guy simply talks more sense than any other high profile leader (religious or otherwise) that I'm aware of. If everyone followed, at least roughly, his basic philosophies (which of course they don't) this world would be a much better place, regardless of whether or not you actually believe in & follow the Buddhist religion.

I'd also like to meet Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee & Neil Peart (Rush). They're my musical heroes & have been since I was aged 15 which was when I saw them on the Farewell To Kings Tour (1978). That was at Manchester Apollo where I virtually lived (or so it seemed) for a particular golden age of touring bands between 1978 & 1980. I haven't missed a Rush tour ever since.

RIP Jeff Healey

I saw Jeff Healey play live in Manchester several years ago at the Academy (my son has one of his plectrums from that gig). He was an extraordinary guitarist & performer. As we know, he played the...

Thin Lizzy
