I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm never very good at describing myself because I'm convinced that we all see each other differently. The way I see myself may be entirely different than the way you'd see me. It doesn't mean either of us are wrong...just different. So here are the basics, and I'll let you figure out the rest for yourself. I'm a freelance writer and editor currently living in Los Angeles. My favorite things in life are things done in the company of people I care about, though I do enjoy moments on my own as well. I have a son that I adore, but who lives out of state and whom I don't see nearly enough. I'm in a relationship, but love making new friends. I'm old enough to know better, but young enough to not care. And every now and then, I think about just dropping everything and starting a yak farm. Just because I think yaks are funny.

Oh, and these are the coolest credits ever.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet someone who can answer all my questions about the little mysteries and inconsistencies you find in life. Someone who can tell me why so many people are willing to put an American flag sticker on their car, yet so few can be bothered to vote. Why the hatred that prompts teens to treat each other so horribly in high school isn't viewed as a problem, but sex between teenagers is. Why it always seems like everyone in the world owns a cell phone except for the one person that's absolutely NEVER at home. Why no one recognizes Superman when he wears his glasses, yet everyone recognizes me when I wear mine. Why nearly everyone says they hate war, yet we can't seem to go ten years without having one. Why everyone I know in Hollywood isn't married, yet so many TV sitcoms are about family life. Why kids never fly kites anymore. And if, as I expect, there isn't anyone out there with answers to these questions, then meeting other people who wonder about them would be nice.

Who says it can't be St. Patrick's Day all year round?

My Blog

Few things in life can get my ire up...but this is one

Usually I use this blog to talk about work and occasional lighthearted personal things. I almost never use it to rant or to discuss anything that’s more serious. I used to love holding onli...

In case you were wondering what’s been going on with me

I've had a few people mention to me lately that I've been rather quiet, and that I haven't been getting out as much as I usually do. Well, there's a reason for this, and up until now, I've been pretty...

Moving...

I don't know anyone who likes moving. It can be exciting at times, but the physical act of relocating is always a real pain and is more than enough to kill any excitement one might...

Jim Hensons Legends of the Dark Crystal

Awhile ago I posted a blog entry about Jim Henson's Return to Labyrinth, a new original graphic novel that I've been working on at TOKYOPOP in collaboration with The Jim Henson Company. That one's a s...

Nothing but memories

I was looking through Joy's high school and college scrapbooks and photo albums last night, and I realized something: I have nothing like that for myself. I took plenty of photos in high school, and I...
