SlowDownClown

SlowDownClown is the writing and music of Vitek Goyel (25) from Mumbai, India and currently living in Bangalore. Vitek started writing and playing music while studying in high school in the UK. While at college in upstate New York, he met Nick Sullivan and they started playing and writing songs under the SlowDownClown name. After returning to India in 2004, Vitek has continued to write and perform solo, and with the help of Nick, still does transatlantic jams.The music is mostly acoustic and sombre, with a focus on the lyrics and songwriting. Influenced by the sights and sounds of living and being brought up in India. The writing is infused with memories of people and places, and though the writing can sometimes seem painful and terse, it is ultimately hopeful music. The music has drawn comparisons from Bob Dylan and Elliott Smith, to Nirvana and R.E.M, to (relatively) lesser known bands such as Uncle Tupelo, Red House Painters, and Dinosaur Jr.
