The Violent Sea

About Me

The Violent Sea pursues a sound that is neither emotionless nor quaint. "An explosion of blended sounds and melodies!"
The Violent Sea is a band made up of three musicians from the North East quarter of North America. Randal T claims such bands as The White Stripes, mewithoutYou, and Journey as influences, while he achieves his own style of drumming slightly reminiscent of Keith Moon (The Who). David Andrew (guitar) brings a rock groove that hearkens back to respected guitarists such as Jimmy Page (Zeppelin), Alvin Lee (Ten Years After), Brian May (Queen) to guitar heroes of the late 20th century and today like Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead), Graham Coxon (Blur/Solo), and Nick Valensi (the Strokes). David Squier (Bass/Vocals) sums up electro/pop and indie sensibility having drawn from artists such as The Postal Service, The Go Find, The Arcade Fire, and The Kings of Leon. Squier's lyrics are delivered with true passion and a sense of urgency.
