About Me

Born and raised in Smithfield, Utah. (That's right, Utah, for those of you who forget...You know who you are!!) A small little town in Cache Valley, north of Salt Lake City about 80 miles. I spent all of my "growing up" years there. I explored my love of music through the different legs of the school programs. Participating in everything from the school symphonic, pep, marching, and concert bands. All the way through the choir and orchestra. I also played in many of these kinds of bands while attending college at Utah State University. Like most musicians, I played in Rock 'N Roll or Variety bands all through my school days. Trudging along through all the learning stages that accompany an aspiring music career. Surpassing all of the "low" times, and pressing on for the next big gig. It has been since then, that I have done everything I could to let music be my career! I have been fortunate enough to have done that during all of the following years. Living in many cities along the way.I have been lucky enough over the years to learn to play several instruments. Originally a classically trained pianist, I quickly learned that there were several other instruments that I love the sound of, and longed to play. In the past few years, I picked up and taught myself to play bass, relying on my knowledge of the piano. I have since made the bass guitar my primary instrument, and have been enjoying the experience. Playing bass opened up a completely different group of possibilities, landing me some of the best jobs of my career!I have been extremely forturnate to play with several local, regional, and even a few national acts throughout the years. I have been able to play shows and meet fans in many of the 50 United States. To many, it might seem like a glamoruous life. I can tell you first hand however, that is is nothing of the sort. Whatever the challenges of this career, I couldn't imagine doing anything else! The biggest reward I find is being on a stage with good friends, in front of an enthusiastic crowd, that is in to the music we love to express!I am currently playing bass with Joe Worrel and The Last Free Exit Band. A Wichita based regional act the is starting to turn heads. Joe Worrel has been doing several shows with a few other artists too. That has been exposing us to even more people. Chances are, we will be doing a show near you, in the near future. Keep you eyes and ears open for us down the road!!

Band Members:Landon is endorsed by Curt Mangan Strings! What great strings these guys make too! They are based out of Cortez, Colorado. I have played on several different brands, but have never had near as much success as with Curt Mangan. Because of the way they tie them, I have yet to ever break one of their strings either. Call them and get some for your guitar or bass today!!!!!!I am proud to use LiveWires! The best in ear-monitor system around! The dual driver, dual port design is awesome. When playing bass, it's hard to find in-ear monitors that have great response and tone for the low frequencies. I can't imagine using anything else!Landon plays through Avalon electronics! I was turned on to using Avalon technology live, by a great sound engineer based out of Denver. One time using the U5 DI live, and I was hooked. This DI allows such a broad sweep of tones, and has proved to be incredible on acoustic intruments too. Acoustic guitars especially. I am still amazed as I play venues all over the country, at the compliments about my tone, from players and sound engineers alike. An incredible musican and friend of mine, Mike Tolbert, uses one for his fiddle as well! You'll love the results!!Landon currently is playing on a MusicMan Bongo 5-string bass guitar! What else can I say? What a great guitar! Like many bass players, I have and love the way other guitars play too. But when it comes to consistency, and reliability there is nothing like the Bongo! It's factory set-up is incredible too. The string spacing and the width of the fret board are just right. Not too wide or too skinny. The action is able to be set real fast to without creating too much string noise.Something like this.....=================================================== ============================================================ ============================================================ ============================================================ ============================================================ ================================Here is something to remember!!A few other images!!!
Influences: There are way to many favorites really! The list here could go on and on and on!!! I will list a few, but I have had so many favorites in so many genres, that it is really hard to narrow it down!!! I think for now I will probably just list some of the things I am listening to right now!Steven Tyler & Aerosmith, Jaco Pastorius, The Dixie Dreggs, Hinder, Merle Haggard, Billy Sheehan, Johnny Lee, Marcus Miller, Jack Ingram, Nathan East, I've even been listening to a little Eminem! Most of all, I am interested in, or listening to people and bands that make me feel like this!--------------YEEE HAWWW!!!!!!!!!!
