Not Flammable is a new Alt Rock band that has slammed into the Southern California scene with a diverse, densely layered, big guitar sound, that is reminiscent of the Smashing Pumpkins, with the melodic garage influence of the Vines. The catchy melodies hide an anger in the lyrics that somehow resolve into a quiet optimism about life in a crazy world. Singer/Guitarist Nathan Esch is the primary songwriter and his cathartic vocals seep with pain, alienation and anguish, yet somehow sneak in enough humor to not take the whole thing too seriously.
Not Flammable is recording their first record and have posted some works in progress on MySpace. So crank it up, feel the pain and smile when it touches you. Not Flammable will be playing in the SoCal area in 2008. Stay tuned.
