Violation 13 DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW !!!!

About Me

+ + +Violation 13 biography :Founded in March 2003 in Genk, Belgium, a bunch of old-time friends decided the time had come to pick up some instruments and play music of their beloved bands, covering a wide range of styles mainly in punk rock, hardcore, hard rock and metal. Naming the band Violation 13, they were eager not only to play covers but also compose self written material, songs that were highly influenced by the likes of Ramones, Misfits, Anti-Nowhere League, Böhse Onkelz etc. After 4 months, being reduced to a 4 piece band, it took them a year before hitting a stage. Pretty soon, Violation 13 made a local name because of their music and maybe even more because of their image which the local music scene hadn’t witnessed for a long time. After only a dozen of gigs, in late 2005, the band suddenly broke up mainly due to musical and personal differences. Sik and Tony left the band in good terms and remaining members Peter and Ruben put an advertisement on the net in search for a new rhythm section.Back on track early 2006, Dave and Jan joined Violation 13 spicing up the band’s sound with more street punk and punk rock ‘n’ roll influences. Pretty soon the band started writing a whole bunch of new material and managed to draw more attention locally. A demo was recorded, entitled “Suicide Commando” which showed the band’s progress. Still not satisfied by the overall sound and power though, the search went on for a lead guitarist. Sisse joined in just a little later and late 2006 Violation 13 was a 5-piece band again. The band felt the right chemistry. More songs were written and several live gigs followed. During 2007, Violation 13 managed to further establish a name in the circuit, shared stages with renowned names like Beowülf (Venice, USA), Born To Lose (Austin, USA) and played a couple of local festivals like Vospop, Hexenkessel, Rockglabbik and Dirty Herrie. After being encouraged by several folks to make a studio record, the band finally hit the studio in January 2008 to record their 11 song debut album entitled “Raisin’ Hell” engineered by Ivan S at Grindhouse Studio. This album covers the band’s 5 year history and combines street punk, rock ‘n’ roll, punk rock, oi and hardcore into one flaming mix we named “Genkster Punk”.Violation 13 – Line-up Ruben “OG” – lead vocals Peter “CycoPete” – rhythm guitar and background vocals Dave “Devlin” – bass and background vocals Jan “Johnny B.” – drums Francis “Sisse” – lead guitarDiscography 2004 – Demo 2004 2005 – Do It Yourself Punk! – Demo 2005 2007 – Suicide Commando – Demo 2007 2008 – Raisin’ Hell (debut album – March 2008)- - - - - -
