For the last 2 years, the production duo SP-12 Beatz, which includes members Spooks (Kojo Adjei-Poku), and Prezident (Jeffrey Offe), have developed their craft, and have become one of the GTA’s most underrated producers. Having just recently gone public with their material, the youngsters, coming out of Brampton, Ontario, have already worked with prime time Canadian artists such as Mason Payne, Dutchy Bonez, and T-West, and respected individuals in the industry have received SP-12 Beatz productions with rave reviews.The two began playing around with FL Studio when they were 15 and 16, respectively. And they haven’t looked back since. “Right from the beginning and continuing today, we still feed off each other,†comments Prezident. “Sorta like friendly competition. Its apparent we’ve impressed a lot of people, but we weren’t brought up to be complacent individuals. To be successful, you must stay on your toes, working on your craft constantly, otherwise one of your fellow producers is going to overtake you and claim your spot. That’s the mentality we have, you gotta stay on your grind.â€Now, with Spooks being 18 years, and Prezident having just turned 17, they have their sights set on bigger things. The two are currently working on a SP-12 Presents mixtape, and are looking to release the compilation on a major scale across the GTA. Also, they are currently with Team Onslaught Next Generation, which is a subdivision of the well known group Team Onslaught Ent., headed by critically acclaimed Toronto artist Nabob aka Starbuxxx. With that sort of well-recognized backing, and the teams undeniable talent and skill, there’s no question they are well on their way to staking their claim at the top of the Canadian hip hop industry.
