About Me

I created this page to highlight some of my favorite music and musicians mostly in the arenas of celtic, bluegrass, folk, blues and cajun music. It started for me years ago when I went to a highland games festival and saw a band named The Wicked Tinkers. They are a phenomenal celtic band and really opened up the door to this world of music for me. From there I found that I really enjoyed certain instruments like the bagpipe and later the fiddle. I then got into celtic fiddle music through another fantastic band called The McKassons which eventually led me to other styles of fiddle music like bluegrass, which led then to other styles of folk and blues music. I tend to like contemporary arrangements of traditional celtic music (The Wicked Tinkers, The McKassons, Lunasa, Old Blind Dogs) and I like my bluegrass very old-timey (The Tallboys, Mad Cow String Band, Uncle Earl, Huckleberry Flint). The same with my tastes for blues (Sassparilla Jug Band, Inkwell Rhythym Makers, Kitchen Syncopators). I love the old 20's and 30's style ragtime acoustic blues. My taste for folk and cajun music is hard to pinpoint. So go check em out folks. Thanks.
