About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorHey all you crazy som beaches,How are ya? I am Eric, a guitar player living in Tucson AZ. Well, I'm not really a guitar player, at least not for a living. But I play one on TV!!!! Well, I don't actually play one on TV, but I play one in my shower! Wiat, I don't do that either. A person could get killed doing that. I do play one on the great world wide web though. I am currently anxiously awaiting my retirement from the USAF sometime in the next 2 yrs. But before I retire I am going to make a trip over to the desert. It will be my first real deployment in almost 19 years of service. I am excited about that. Anyway, once I retire I'm not sure what the heck I'm gonna do. I would love to go into the music biz, but who the hell wouldn't love to do that? Dream on, right? I guess ya never really know though. Anyway, I like to play the guitar and write songs. I usually don't get very far with a lot of lyrics, but I tend to have a knack for compositions. In the recordings that you'll hear on my myspace site (that sounds funny...my myspace) the only instruments that I am actually playing are the guitar (big surprise there) and the piano/keys. The drums are either loops or drum sections that I program on the computer. I like using loops (not really but they usually sound better than programmed drums) in my songs for all of those instruments that I either can't play or don't have the money or room for in my house. I do all of this recording for the fun of it I suppose (but of course that's Bullsh__, you do it because you love it and wish you could do it everyday for the rest of your life, and wish you would be discovered or something crazy like that). If you'd like to hear a song that showcases my guitar playing, check out "The Setting of the Sun". For vocals I have recently added part of a song I am reworking from my teenage years called "Love Before". I wrote this song back in the mid 80's when I was 16. I have recorded it with one unsigned band and once by myself on a self-recorded CD entitled "Midnight Ride" (1998 unreleased). The other song that has some of my vocals on it is a Coutry tune that I wrote while stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Japan in 2005. It is called "To Be Loved". You will find that I tend to write songs in a lot of different styles, but my favorite style is ROCK N ROLL! I grew up in the 80's with all those Hair Bands so that's probably a big surprise there. For my guitar playing, my biggest influence is probably Eddie Van Halen. He is the guitarist that made me realize that I wanted to play guitar. My favoritest band on the planet at this time is Dream Theater. I like to think of them as a "musicians band". Every member of the band is flat-out amazing! Anyway, I like to upload songs that I am working on, so most of what you hear here (there's another one of those my myspace-like phrases)are works in progress. I like to upload them so I can get a feel for what people think (and because I don't whant to loose them when my computer decides to crash again). Anyway, I am sure you are getting bored reading this (unless you live in West Virginia, anything is exciting as compared to living there). So, I'll stop typing now (not really). If you are completely bored (or if you like what you hear) please let me know (you don't have to let me know if you are bored, but if you like what you hear or have any suggesions let me know). Now I will really stop typing.
