A New SONG!
This one's called "Torocagua", and it's this latin spin through the first area of my mission. Check it out at my website !From my website :Warning!Listening to this music doesn’t require parental approval. It’s a bit of clean rebellion. It keeps your outlook up and your hope alive. It’s got strong drums and screaming guitars. It pumps you up and drives your life. It’s a hunger for exploration. It chooses the right and returns with honor. It’s music you don’t have to confess to your bishop. It’s not your parents’ "Saturday’s Warrior".It’s "A Joyful Noise"Some comments:“There's a great variety, but there's a rock power that really should get noticed. This is not Peter Brienholt's LDS music, or JKPerry's. This is much grittier and edgier that almost anything else out there, but the message is strong and good.“Wake up, teen mormondom, this is your music!“Way to go, Mark!- Marco Davis, of Pearl Award-winning group “Fiddlesticksâ€â€œJust gotta tell you how awesome your album is. It just rocks and rocks and rocks. I'm paying bills at work but I don't really care because I've got One United Generation blasting in the background (What'll Save Ya, currently). Anway, great work. Can't wipe the smile off my face.â€- Kent Olmstead, of “Fast Sundaeâ€â€œMark Hansen's One United Generation absolutely rocks and helps to fill a void that has long been a frustration for me - not enough LDS rock music! If you haven't picked up your copy yet, RUN, don't walk, to your nearest LDS music retail outlet (or snag it from Mark's website). Definitely worth the cost!â€- Perry Shumway, LDS filmmaker"I love your intensity. Keep up the great work. You have some great guitar chops. You remind me of some of Greg Simpson's work, except you have turned it up a notch or two in the rock department. Very good stuff.â€- Bill A.
"Mark, I got your CD today. I am brought to tears at the toy soldier song…. Especially now that the whole Iraq thing is going on, and frankly, I don't see us being out of war ever again, so this is an instant classic to me. Thanks again for that."- Anson Service, LDS Musician, “Three Hole Punchâ€"When I was 16, I was faced with my Laurel Project. ...We had a special youth night. Mark performed and talked... ...All of the youth loved getting together and having something like this. ...Not only did they hear songs that they fell in love with the first time of hearing them, they also got a copy of their own to keep. ...It definitely was spiritual and amazing."-Kerri Jenkins"(Pharisee is) In a word... Awesome... and cool! --In two words... awesome and cool... and creative! --In three words... awesome and cool and creative and infectious! --Great job, Mark. Sounds fantastic!"- Eric Endres, LDS musician
"I was skeptical when I first saw the link to "LDS Rock Music" because I had always thought that what I had seen on some 'religious' programs was very sacriligious ('Jesus Christ is in the house' set to a rap tune). So with that fear, I downloaded the songs that you have available, and was very pleasantly surprised. They are interesting tunes, and songs that teach gospel standards without trying to be hymns...Thanks for your time and thanks for sharing your talents to help out the youth of the Church who so easily are beset by struggles."- Braden E.
