Rostock are a 4 piece rock band that come from Canvey Island, Essex, England."A port on the north eastern coast of Germany, inadvertently visited on the journey from Berlin to Hamburg during the 'MAN' 1992 Winter Tour - a pity really as they had no desire to go there at the time. However, it did provide a name for this band and a drum head court martial for me...Roger Hoodless."History:- 'Hambuggered' is Rostocks very first 'demo' album. Recorded May/June 1996 on a 4-track in Rogers living room. The album consists of early Rostock songs, originally recorded before 'Broad Wings Over Berlin', so that the band could get a feel of studio time and recording, without wasting anytime in the actual studio: -- 'Broad Wings Over Berlin' is Rostocks first album. It was recorded between the 27th and the 30th December 1996 at CWS Studios, Chelmsford, Essex and was produced by Chaz Stevens.- 'Surrealist Dream' is Rostocks second album. It was recorded between January and April 2000. All the songs are original compositions from Rostock, except track 7 'Bananas', which is copyright 'MAN'.- 'Man, We're Glad We Know You' is a tribute album to the MAN band. It consists of eight different bands, each playing one of their favourite MAN tracks. The album or project was co-ordinated by PETE GIFFORD and mastered at PGRS and Studio 64, Middlesborough. The sleeve is by Pete Clarkson and Pete Gifford. www.petegifford.co.uk. Rostocks contribution is track 4, 'Bananas' and was recorded at Roger's house using his home studio. This song also appears on Rostocks 'Surrealist Dream' album.- 'Once Upon A Time' is Rostocks third album. It was recorded during 2003 and finished in 2004. The cover design is by Nadine Price.- Rostock are currently working on their fourth studio album with the new line-up...available soon...if it ever get's finished!Rostock currently rehearse every Tuesday evening round Roger's house, busy practising new and old tunes for gigging...watch this space!
