About Me
Elder Kevin Kioko (key-o-co) West is a native of Washington, D.C. and was reared under the divine teaching of the House of Prayer Church of God. He completed his education in the District of Colombia Public school system.Elder West dedicated his life to the Lord on December 2, 1991, and as his desire grew to embrace the fullness of God’s blessing of Salvation, he received the gift of the Holy Ghost on August 1, 1992. After acknowledging the call of God to preach the Gospel in September 1993, he made preparations to fulfill the call by attending Refreshing Spring Bible Institute in Riverdale, Maryland.Since childhood, Elder West has demonstrated a heart and passion for servitude in his ascension through the ranks of ministry. He has allowed the Lord to use him in several capacities in service to his local congregation, the House of Prayer Church of God #1, as a choir member, usher, musician, deacon, music director, bible study teacher, Episcopal adjutant, co-chair of several committees and as Vice-President of the Young Peoples’ Conference. As he continued serving the Lord with humility, on January 4,1998 Elder West responded and submitted to the request of his pastor Bishop Francis S. Myles, to assist in the revitalizing of Redeemed House of Prayer Church of God. With only the pastor and two members remaining at that church, Elder West along with his wife, children and Brother Gregory Johnson began to revive, rebuild and refurbish this branch of Zion. Preaching and leading with power, passion and simplicity the small congregation began to grow both spiritually and physically. With the favor of the Lord through faithful giving of the saints, the church has experienced a complete renovation. God being please with the zealous determination of these faithful saints to continue the work of the ministry, souls were added to the church. Having served this congregation for several years as deacon, organist and assistant to the Pastor, Elder West was appointed Interim Pastor by the Bishop Francis S. Myles and sanction by the Board of Presbytery. Under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, Elder West continues to lead with compassion and preach with conviction the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lives are being changed; souls are being delivered as he uses practical application of God’s word. There is an ever increasing growth at Redeemed not only membership, but more importantly in discipleship. He is also called upon throughout the Body of Christ to lend his knowledge of ecclesiastical protocol in event planning and coordinating.Elder West is the husband of Missionary Felicia Elise West and they are the blessed parents of two gifted daughters, Erika Elise and Kristina Kezia (ka-zye-a). Elder West and his family have committed their lives to the work of the ministry in which the Lord has entrusted to their care. It is his greatest joy and desire to see the people of God walk in the assurance of knowing that “God is Able!†Eph. 3:20. “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.
