Álvaro Cueva

Álvaro Cueva é formado em artes cênicas e vem de uma família de artistas. No teatro, trabalhou ao lado de nomes como Esther Góes, Zeno Wilde e Márcio Aurélio. Também deu aulas no Teatro Escola Macunaíma. Atuou como ator e diretor, além de ter sido, por várias vezes, diretor musical de espetáculos, sempre com uma íntima ligação com a música brasileira. A isso se deve a teatralidade de suas canções, uma das principais características de sua criação. Dono de um timbre de voz peculiar, que mistura doçura e vigor, já aos 12 anos fazia participações vocais em gravações do grupo Titulares do Rítmo. O Autor experimenta em sua produção motivos nordestinos, temas latinos e sambas, além do blues, sem nunca abandonar sua referência paulistana, maior palco de todas as miscigenações musicais. Participou de vários festivais de música (Carrefour, Tatuí, Primeiro Projeto Nascente da Universidade de São Paulo - USP, e Avaré, entre outros). Em 1990, lançou disco com a banda Rés, onde foram incluídas várias de suas composições. É membro do Clube Caiubi de Compositores (www.clubecaiubi.com.br), movimento cultural com curadoria de Zé Rodrix, que tem revelado alguns dos grandes autores da musica brasileira da atualidade.
Álvaro Cueva is formed in scenic arts and it comes from a family of artists. In the theater, he worked beside names as Esther Góes, Zeno Wilde and Márcio Aurélio. He also gave classes in the Teatro Escola Macunaíma. He acted as actor and director, besides it being, for several times, musical director of shows, always with an intimate connection with the Brazilian music. To that he is due the theatricality of their songs, one of the main characteristics of his creation. Owner of an emblem of peculiar voice, that mixes sweetness and vigo, already to the 12 years he made vocal participations in recordings of the group Titulares do Rítmo. The Author tries in his production Northeastern reasons, Latin themes and sambas, besides the blues, without never to abandon his reference typical of São Paulo, larger stage of all of the musical miscegenations. He participated in several music (Carrefour, Tatuí, First Nascent Project of the University of São Paulo - USP, and Avaré, among others) festivals. In 1990, it released disk with the band Rés Derelictae, where they were included several of their compositions. It is member of the Clube Caiubi of Composers (www.clubecaiubi.com.br), cultural movement with trusteeship of Zé Rodrix, that has been revealing some of the great authors of the Brazilian music of the present time.
