Have you ever sat through a nine minute black and white arthouse short film with a title like ‘The Naked Flower’ and wondered: “How the fuck is it possible to get this bored in less than ten minutes?” Maybe you haven’t…but we fucking have.That’s why in the glorious year of 2007 we have decided to give the world “CELT”.CELT is a new Anglo/Welsh short film. A violent and very dark comedy of sorts. It’s gonna be the visual, dramatic and cinematic equivalent of attaching your testicles to a car battery whilst having a shower (er…that may not sound like fun but trust us: it is – we know!).CELT follows a day in the life of Gethyn Llewellyn: a charismatic, hair-trigger, Welsh psychopath. A Newport resident, he’s been contracted by a local dealer to travel up to London and deliver some hash. All he’s got to do is go up to London, drop the gear off, get paid and then get home in time for the all-important England vs Wales rugby game. Sounds easy right? It might have been were in not for Gethyn’s general naivety towards all things London and his inclination to using extreme violence to solve pretty much all of life’s problems. To say “All fuckin’ hell breaks loose” would be to grossly underestimate how far Gethyn takes things.The script is being written by film-maker Will Gilbey and all round ace Welsh actor Ian Virgo.
