BIOGRAPHY
It's hard not to feel blessed when you wake up every day with a sense of purpose and a desire to create something positive. For the longest period of time, this just was not the case for us. To try to overcome this roughpatch, and with high hopes of creating something that actually moved us and felt unique, we gathered in Trondheim the summer of 2007 to start writing music together under the monicker Like Rats From A Sinking Ship.
The outcome of these initial sessions is "SXY SXY GSW EP", a four track, 19 minutes long effort combining hardcore and electronica influences with elements of post-rock, sludgemetal and a wide range of other genres. Recorded early november 2007 in Trondheim, this is our debut release and thus also our musical babysteps with this band, and we couldn't be more proud of the way it turned out.
In life things seldom just falls into ones lap, so instead of sitting around waiting for things to happen we try to make them happen. We book our own shows, do our own artwork and manage the band ourselves. This doesn't mean that we shun help from the outside, in fact it's greatly appreciated, we just don't have the time to wait for someone to offer.
We decided early on to create art primarily for ourselves and not let what other people think or feel about it affect us to much on a personal or musical level, and we hope to stay true to this mantra in all our future endeavors.
