Band Members: All songs written, performed, arranged and produced by Nick Robson.
Influences: Bowie, early albums are still so far ahead of their time – a true original. The first album I bought was The Man Who Sold The World and I could still listen to Width of a Circle all day long. Later material relied more on recruited talent but everything up to Low - just extraordinary. In many ways, it is pretty much impossible not to be influenced by such an incredible artist.Lou Reed, the master of clever phrasing – check out Charley’s Girl – just brilliant. He has one of those voices that could never sound bad - ever.Ultravox, this band was the educated predecessor to Punk/New Romanticism and I still never tire of listening to their music. John Foxx was hypnotic & Connie Plank a genius. They really missed out on greatness.Kraftwerk, proof that Germans have a sense of humour – modern classics.Roxy Music, a collective of uniquely talented individuals – undeniably craftsmen.Iggy Pop, great humourist, explosive performer and still sends a shiver up the spine – the original wild child.Prince, without doubt, the most under-rated writer & performer of the last 50 years - people forget that he is one of the world’s most prolific writers and producers for other artists.Belouis Some, whatever happened to this man? Imagination would always figure in my top 10.T.Rex, Ride A White Swan was the first single I ever bought. Marc Bolan was my first idol and although he began to lose the plot towards the end, he influenced so many people of my generation and died way too early – very sad.Japan, The new Roxy Music! Whatever you want to dislike about them, they had style, they were clever and they produced great music. Mick Karn was unique and mesmerizing.Cowboys International, I am not sure why this band didn’t become enormous. The Original Sin still remains one of my favourite albums. Ken Lockie – brilliant vocals.Gary Numan - an old friend and a brilliant artist. Just realised that there aren't any female artists on this list which is unforgiveable but how could I forget to add my favourite female artist of all time? Sheryl Crow is one immensely unique and talented artist - I love her musc, she just makes me smile and she's a damned sexy woman too.
Sounds Like: Some of the above I guess, I hope....
