Sounds Like: 'Although Bristol-based King has been compared to Bill Withers, his sensitive, heart-on-sleeve songs and folky backing, with Kate Robey's cello lines shadowing the vocals, might have more in common with Seventies California cowboys. What's certain is that this is a very good debut, whose best tunes create a suitably intimate and melancholy mood, enhanced by laid-back acoustic picking and subtle swells of Hammond organ.'
