Totter Todd and The Well Tempered Players play a brand of music that, though rooted in the tradition of the classical genres of jazz and blues, has become an entirely unique hybrid all its own. The bands sounds range between contemporized versions of jazz and bop standards, hard-edged psycho-swing, avant-garde noise, rock, heart-string-tearing melodies and sludged out post-modern apocalyptical blues. The Well Tempered Players began working together in the fall of 2003 and established a weekly resident club night at the Trilogy Lounge in Boulder Colorado. www.trilogylounge.com This weekly developed a devout following that continues to support the band. In addition to the residency at Trilogy, TT&WTP have performed at the music/arts venue The Boulder Theater (www.bouldertheater.com) and developed a name for themselves amongst the underground warehouse dance scene in Colorado as well as the private party circuit. Their first album Compulsions Widows has been completed and the band is actively gigging to support this release. Totter Todd - lead vocalist, saxophonist, writer, and arranger -makes his home in San Francisco CA. Other featured artists in the Well Tempered Players are Jeb Eagle Bows, Reverend James Calvin Thompson, and Andrew Lindsrom. Andrew Lindsrom currently hails out of the Denver Metro Area. He has been touring with some of the members of Planes Mistaken For Stars and plays with the band Nightshark. Jeb is a native of Colorado and has been playing the violin, amongst other instruments, since he was a child. Classically trained, Jeb now plays with many groups within and around the genres of Folk, Bluegrass, Alternative, Experimental, and Jazz. J.C was born and raised in Nova Scotia Canada. He plays the upright bass. J.C is presently a student of the legendary Art Lande. He plays, for the most part, within the Jazz idiom and gigs primarily in the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area. Both Mr. Bows and Rev. Thompson also contribute their writing and arrangement skills to the Well Tempered Players.
