Hi everybody ! I’am Jean-Paul Jamot...guitarist, bassist and composer / arranger. I am also familiar with fretted instruments such as mandolin and banjo. I grew up with a very wide sense of music, from Rock to pop, jazz and acoustic...I studied the guitare with Pierre Cullaz and harmony and composition with André Hodeir. Born in France, in the early sixties I played with many artists and musicians, Richard Anthony, Angelo Debarre, Ludovic Beier. I had the great chance to jam last November at Birdland Jazz Club in New York during the Django Festival produced by Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta, there I met Samson and Dorado Schmitt and saxophonist James Carter. I am now playing in France on stage on diverse bands, from Jazz to pop music...some new projects on the road !!! I will try to update info asap for you my new “myspace” friends !!! In 2003, I released my first album, called “COULEUR GUITARE”, a kind of tribute to all the French “chansons”...meaning songs that everybody knows. I tried to keep the spirit but by changing arrangements and chords, I made those songs sounding fresh and acoustic. You can go on the page" Becool project "to discover some tunes of my new opus.Actuellement outre mon travail de compositeur que je cherche toujours à diversifier avec de nouvelles collaborations, mes activités sont celles d’un musicien professionnel: studio, soirées, groupes divers, réalisations dans mon home studio... - je fais partie du groupe Nuevo Paris dont nous avons enregistré le premier album sur lequel je participe à toutes les compositions, je joue les guitares et une bonne partie des basses, il doit être commercialisé à la rentrée, et on peut écouter des extraits sur la page myspace du groupe ; je prépare également un second album sous mon nom.
