Dreams within Nightmares have a long history between the members, Tom Healey and Eddy Spirit originally started the idea of a band when Eddy discovered Tom owned a guitar and that he had a drum kit. Later in their first year at Farlingaye high school Tom went to Eddy’s house for a jam session, and MY GOD was it crap, the band was originally named Blud Drip (crap name).
Tom and Eddy decided they needed some more members of the band, so in year 8 Peter (rabbit) Yarham joined the group, and began to learn bass as he did not actually play an instrument to begin with. The band did not really start until Eddy persuaded Peter to come to the amplifier project which was still at the pilot stage and therefore free. Tom was later convinced as well, but it took a long time.
Eddy new Sam (screw) Driver from the Amplifier project and had jammed with him at the sessions before Peter and Tom had arrived. So they decided they would do the amplifier gig together, going under the name of The Four Musketeers DWN played their first gig together, doing a cover of smells like teen spirit by Nirvana. The band began there.
After this complete and utterly failed gig DWN went on to write their own material with new singer Johnny Robertson-Young, who was later kicked out after a gig went badly and DWN realised he couldn’t sing. After this DWN went through a long period of time as an instrumental band, later realising Tom had the voice to sing for the band. And the current DWN was formed, DWN are now currently working hard writing new material and have now completed their full set.
We managed to get onto the Suffolk soundwaves compilation album this year, and are hoping to be gigging a LOT more in the future so keep your eyes peeled.
DWNWe have recently split up due to differences with our bassist and loss of contact.
