About Me

In 1995 it all started in the city of Norfolk, VA in a well known neighborhood by the name of Norview. Here lied a handful of hungry hip-hop artists with intentions in reaching the doorways of a good recording label. It was only shortly after this time that TytanIQ (Tyrone Pleas) collaborated with these artists and created a group by the name of The Corporation. The Corporation began to create a buzz with radio spins provided by 103 Jamz, 92.1, and 91.1. Songs like "All I Wanna Do" and "I Know That's Right" began to ring in the ears of the public, but it was short lived. The lack of new material and more radio play caused the group's buzz to stall. TytanIQ then begin to take matters into his own hands on many solo endeavors. TytanIQ released the self entitled mixtape "Corporation Presents: TytanIQ" and the ever so popular "Mixtape Toure 2004). He teamed up with 103 Jamz's then hottest DJ, DJ E.J. Grieg. DJ E.J. Greig believed in TytanIQ's talent, and gave him the opportunity of creating an intro for his radio segment. TytanIQ met the challenge, delivering a hot intro that any DJ would be proud of. The intro was embraced by DJ E.J. Greig, the listeners, and the staff of the number station in Hampton Roads, 103 Jamz. TytanIQ then began to have his tracks played on the radio, but once again, his buzz stalled out. This constant stalling would discourage TytanIQ, sending him back into the drug-filled streets of Norfolk where he lived a "by any means neccessary" lifestyle. On several occasions, his decision proved to be hazardous. Eventually realizing the true dynamic of the streets, TytanIQ removed himself from all that he knew. He relocated to MD where he has now rekindled his passion for music. Through a friend, he coincidentally met a young rapper with a similar passions for the art form of Hip-Hop. This rapper from Killeen, TX turned out to be Skinny A (Anthony Smith). Intrigued by Skinny A's ambition, TytanIQ began to take songs from his dusty notebook and bring them alive. Skinny A and TytanIQ's chemistry was instantaneous, and before long, a brotherly like friendship was formed. Before Harford County knew what hit them, "Rida Musik" was released. This was the first of many collaborations by the dynamic duo with contrasting, but complimentary, rap styles. Rida Musik would prove to be a slight success in Harford County, but both Skinny A and TytanIQ knew that this first CD was just a preview of what was truly possible. TytanIQ, along with Skinny A, are currently finalizing an array of discs. "Futurama," Purple Universe Presents: We Comin! Mixtape,"and "Hood Heroes" are all set to drop in 2010. TytanIQ has had a history of his music stalling, how would he be sure that it would not happen again? The truth is that he doesn't know. The only thing he knows is that "Even good people lie, but good music doesn't!" ~ TytanIQ
