DEP CC will be Thursday, June 7th at 7:00am. We will be making a trip to McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Bring a friend!! It will last all day and we should return around 5ish. I have some events set up there, the SP's will do a K-9 demonstration, the education office has a short briefing for us, and we will go to some of the maintenenace areas to talk to maintainers there..
Everyone remember, referals can and will reflect greatly on your career. For any of the DEP'pers, if you refer enough people to me to enlist two; a measly two people, I will write you a decoration. It is an awesome event to meet your new commander at your first duty station and have him pin on an Achievement medal! The medal will give you one point towards testing for E-5. I know one point doesnt seem to be much, but I missed my promotion once for E-5 by .017 of a point! If I had worked hard with my recruiter and gotten an Achievement medal, I would had sown on Staff Sergeant one year earlier, and that would have meant more pay and more respect.
Note to all DEP'pers: How big is Schuylkill County? How many qualified applicants are there in the entire county? We need 25 people by next October to help out the war on terror and serve our country in the U.S. Air Force. 25 people from an entire county?? Car mechanics, criminal justice majors, computer geeks.. all people we are looking for. Lets get out and talk to your friends and your friends friends and see if they qualify for America's Air Force and help them get a better career and a jumpstart on life!
There has been a problem with DEPprs not contacting me throughout the month. This is a reminder that everyone must talk to me on the phone at least twice a month, and see me twice a month, to include DEP CC's. I am held responsible for this, so I hold all of you responsible for it too. If I havent talked to you in a week, call me!! Thank you for your support.
We have A1C Steve Sleva back for RAP duty. Steve is a Hydrolics troop headed to Utah. He graduated from Blue Mt High school. AB Dylon Ditzler is home for RAP now. He is an ammo troop headed to Florida. He graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School.
Tops in Blue will be performing on August 14th at McGuire AFB. I will take a group of interested people out to see them perform if anyone is interested, but remember... bring friends!!! If you want to know more about Tops in Blue and who they are, go to http://www.topsinblue.com/
