Jean-Marc CARRAI was born in Tunisia from an Italian family in the sixties, then the family moved to the south of France (Nice), where he grew up listening to music from his elder brother and sister. At the age of 12, he heard Jimi Hendrix and wish for a guitar for x'mas. Five years later he bought his first bass and joined a few school bands playing standards from the Stones and Led Zeppelin. In 1978, he moved to Paris after being asked to join a fusion band called Yemba, with them he played festivals and big stages. Three years later he moved back to Nice, and entered the "Régional Conservatory of Music". After he graduated, he joined the "JC Laurent Big Band" and toured with them for four years. He left the band and played at the "Monté Carlo Sporting Club".
During the same period he played in palaces abroad, and for cruises companies. In 1994, together with his school mate drummer D.Dray, he founded the fusion band "Snake Tongue"
and toured southern Europe. J.Marc moved to Stockholm in 1997, and was playing among bands playing different styles (Hip Hop, Blues, Salsa and Jazz....). At this time he was "resident Bass player" for Rockwood, Cavern and Wrong steps studio, and started to arrange and produce. He wrote songs for Anne Johanson,Derek Huntsman and Rosana Lind. In 2000, he went back to his home town, to co-produce music for the French/German TV channel Arte.
He was asked to be PR, for the Jazz company "La maioun daou Be Bop", and became member of the board in the artistic collective "Les Diables Bleus", where he installed his recording unit. He wrote and produced albums for singers like Miss Alex (R&B), Fernando Alves (Brazilian Music), Zine (French songs), Indian winds... He wrote and produced the single "Ultra Simple" for the legendary vocalist, Jean-Pierre Bruno, who played this material in the "Nice Jazz Festival 2007". In 2008 he co-wrote/produced for Angel K and move to Stockholm in september.
