the wandering minstrel society

The Wandering Minstrel Society is a new name for an old organization, a rythymn section, really, that has been creating new music & re-creating old music since 1991. Mostly what we do is alot of porch jamming out in the middle of nowhere, hardly ever playing gigs, just mostly experimenting with the dynamics of playing various acoustic instruments without any electronic effects or even sound equiptment. We base our jams around a foundation of original & traditional songs, leaning most heavily into the bluesy, jazzy, psychedelic jug band genre,....pure Americana music at it's finest. Our recordings are just the raw stuff,lots of improv & extended wandering jams. We tend to rebel against even playing the same song the same way every time, so you never know what's going to happen, it's always something new. At some point in the future, as in the past, the society of minstrels will be wandering through your area possibly. It's rare, but it happens. Other than that, real soon & continuing onward, we'll be frequently updating this page with new jams.Check it out, you may find something you like.
