About Me

I once tried to come up with a single sentence to describe what I wanted to gain out of my lifetime. I came up with this- "I want the beauty of this world seared into my being long after infinity has wrapped me in its cocoon of wisdom." That's my passion, beauty. And if I could take one thing with me to remember forever, it would be just how beautiful life really is.Ha! I'm such a cheeseball!!! No, but honestly. Sometimes the easiest way to tell if someone is being sincere is when they make you throw up in your mouth a little ;)

My Interests

Everything? Ha, very nearly anyway. Reading, writing, singing, dancing (preferably in summer rains), riding horses, fishing, driving, studying different cultures, philosophizing, shopping, modeling, and learning to be a mom. Interests include history, philosophy, art, literature, music, all sciences, etymology, society through the ages, and Russia. Sushi is also on my list of interests (or obsessions) and I collect playing cards and perfumes. Who doesn't love playing poker and smelling delicious at the same time?I'm such a nerd! But I'm so excited about this movie!Twilight in HD

I'd like to meet:

Someone who cares as much as I do.

Music:

If you like it, I probably don't like it. If you don't like it, I probably like it. The only exception is if you (like me) listen to NPR and music that's normally never on the radio.

Movies:

The Number 23, Thomas Crown Affair, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Seven, Garden State, Transporter, Underworld, Casino Royale, Kill Bill, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Illusionist, Constantine, Fight Club, Kiss of the Dragon, Lucky Number Slevin, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Harry Potter, Blade, Equilibrium, Mr. And Mrs. Smith, Troy, Dawn of the Dead, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matrix, King Kong, The Last Samurai, The Descent, Gladiator, Pitch Black, V for Vendetta, Lord of the Rings, Unleashed, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Merlin, Boondock Saints, 300, The Prestige, The Fountain, and Smokin' Aces, The Mist, The Departed, No Country For Old Men, Charlie Wilson's War, A Lot Like Love, Holiday, Jumper, Fool's Gold, Thank You For Smoking, Batman Begins.

Television:

I used to be an avid fan of House, Sopranos, and UFC. For the past year or so, I uhh, stopped watching television entirely.

Books:

If it appears on any classical literature list, I've probably read it, own it, and love it. As for not-so-classical literature that I love- Tim Dorsey is the man. I am also an ardent collector of antique books.

Heroes:

Dostoevsky, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Rilke, Kafka, Orgeta, Jaspers, Heidegger, Sartre, and Camus. People like Henry Rollins who make me laugh so hard I get a headache.

My Blog

On disinterest and peace.

I've been reading random philosophy books at Barnes and Noble and I've discovered Meister Eckhart who is well worth the read. While reading his sermon on disinterest, I had to stop every now and then ...

Job apps

I filled out so many applications yesterday, it was ridiculous! The last one I filled out was at Beef O'Brady's. There was a space where it said you could put any additional comments, blah blah blah. ...

Bored

I meditate, cogitate, ruminate Softly, quietly so as not to disturb a stillness that is self-imposed, and failing Stillness is a fraudulent word Nothing is stagnant Even there, smoke Curling from th...

Interessant

Is killing a confirmation of one's own existence? Is death proof that you have lived? Perhaps in these thoughts lie the explanation behind man's insatiable thirst for war. I think I have an essay...

Melodies and Metaphors

In the dream I was singing to a child. A small boy. But this was a song I had never heard before and my own clear soprano voice was echoing the words in my head. Lyric coiled upon lyric as the song an...

The Buffet

Life, to me, is like a buffet. I’m standing here and there is all this different food in front of me to try. It’s just that there’s a catch, understand. I don’t get a second pl...
