I'm a mezzo-soprano and choral conductor whose primary interest is in early music and ensemble work. I'm the co-founder of In Mulieribus (www.inmulieribus.org), a small, all-women's early music ensemble, and I'm constantly working to create more good music in the world, either as a section singer, a soloist, a conductor, or a producer.
In Portland I've performed with the Trinity Cathedral Chamber Choir, Cantores in Ecclesia, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Cappella Romana, and the Columbia Chorale. At Portland State I was the alto section leader, teaching assistant, and frequent soloist with the internationally-renowned PSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Bruce Browne.I conducted the PSU Women's Choir for both years of my graduate work (MM Conducting) and am the music director at Milwaukie Presbyterian Church.
Recent solo work includes Mass in B Minor, St. John Passion, Christmas Oratorio (Bach); Messiah, Dixit Dominus (Handel); Christmas Oratorio (Saint-Saens); Canticle II - Abraham and Isaac, Rejoice in the Lamb (Britten); Requiem (Mozart). Upcoming performances include Stabat Mater (Pergolesi) and a solo vocal recital in March 2007. I study voice with Nancy Olson-Chatalas.
I live with the delightful Pepper, a miniature poodle "of a certain age" and spend my free time with my friends and family, almost all of whom live nearby, reading, knitting, and tasting as many of the wonderful Northwest wines as I can. I also enjoy going to see movies - ranging from the arty to the cheesy - at the local indy theaters (especially the ones which serve aforementioned grape juice!).
