Having my life returned to me after a massive cardiac arrest was the convincing I needed to buy my soul back and resurrect the rubble that was once 'RUNAMUK VISUALS'...I spend my working week creating videos and visual content for Billabong (Passion Pop, Teahupoo Diaries, the Mitch vid, Freeway, Tropical Punch, Inside, the history of Billabong and the Occy tribute) Every spare moment will be devoted to RV, 'Casting our own shadow' and keeping our team moving forward ...the cherry venture may of rusted away but we are picking up the pieces, one by one if we have too...keep your eyes, ears and gullets open for RUNAMUK VISUALS....

........-'98 -'00 started off diggin holes on the Noosa Shire Council... dreaming of a better way of life...then, Arthritis hit me in both my wrists... I dug holes for a living.... the council had to let me go I was no use to them...what does an apprentice plumber do with 2 bung wrists???
- I had sat back and watched serious talent go unrecognized for being ' too far north' for long enough...So I took it on board that I would do what I could...my oldies bought me a digital8mm Sony... I was all smiles but no skills
-2000 - Dwayno, Chai, Ryza, Hooper, Muley, Swanny, Bouney, Jamesy, Yogi and the Tewantin 'chosen family' were the first stepping stone...everywhere we went the camera came with...
-'1 TOO MANY' our first release...edited from VCR to VCR ' pause record, pause record' and a soundtrack overlayed with Chai's stereo. It was made up of 10% surf 10% skate 80% stupidity and debauchery...but we were into it and it was just for the old boys...
- I had many doubters...some close to home...but fuck it, im enjoying it, im young... perfect combination I thought...
- T-shirts and stickers were made up and given out and traded for beers and recognition...the faithful RV skulls were a major part of my art direction...and I still cant let go of 'em...
- Council and police threatened us 'have all your stickers removed from council property around town, or we will make you and your mates clean the streets'...we laughed and walked...they even began scoping out my house from either end of our street....with nothing to hide we just waved to them...they loved it... 'Come and raid us for our toaster and vegemite ya buzzards'...later on they realized that my intent was to promote the talent of the Sunny Coast.
-'FEW 2 MANY' was our 2nd release... Ryan Campbell, Daniel Vardy (surf), Karl Bayldon and Sammy Winter (sk8) got on board...we premiered at the Villa in Noosaville, things got messy, the bouncers were belted by the boys after refusing kids entry, even though it had been agreed on otherwise...The rumour mill got churning....' Those Runamuk boys are cunts'....Small town, Big mouth's...but it was amusing
-'DOGNATAS' was our 3rd release... Dean brady, Wade Goodall, Lee Wilson, Dean Connelly, Monkdog, Sterny, Julian Wilson, Kalen Schloss, Reardo, Trev Tripcony... the name was intended to be made up of villains and heroes?...hence the god and satan backwards idea...I am amused by that shit...
We were doin' real runamuk shit not staged set up stupidity like tension or jackass....we would be at the footy a few drinks down and Muley would decide to eat the end of his ciggie for a few laughs...stupid or funny? he didnt care, we didnt care....although the big man gets heart burn off brushing his teeth now so maybe it wasnt so clever...
Then 'SHINING THROUGH' came up and the team was becoming a real force, with the crew we already had we now had Mitch Coleborn, Leigh Sedley and Dave Harris on board....At this point i had spent maybe 1000 hrs standing on the beach and a similar amount of time editing and letting brades slomo his clips back to back haha ...Meanwhile i was making 'sponsor me' tapes for all the boys...as they were getting hook ups all over the joint i was still scrapin by on salada's and cordial...The Doley stood by me as long as they could until they were like 'We like your idea and what your doing for the youth but wheres ya income?' and i was like 'Fucks me, they pay me in beer and petrol money'...'Well Jake , we cant help you anymore you need to get a 'REAL' job'....?...Then Goodall, a good mate and top team member hooked me up with global surf giant BILLABONG.....RUNAMUK VISUALS WAS DEAD....and it hurt...no more shirts no more premieres...there was a hole in the Sunny Coast and I hated the fact I'd let the one thing I enjoyed wither away...but I had to live on something...My girl, my dog and I packed up shop and left the Sunny Coast behind...4 years on and 7 videos later for my great friends at Billabong the RUNAMUK VISUALS resurrection begins...We are broadening our boundaries from Noosa to the entire coastline of This great country of ours....
